Last week we quietly started something new…. Our Saturday Supper Club is 4 delicious courses of our favorite, seasonally-inspired foods.

This isn’t a fancy prix fixe, just food that we love and are excited to share with you 💕 We have one table left available for tomorrow night so dm us to get your spot or put in your name for the coming weeks!

I have posted many pictures of the High Falls at grand Portage Sate Park. I try to get there maybe once a month and like to see it from both sides of the border. Last night it was from the US side. I like to see it when it is roaring and when it is more sedate….if that is the correct term. And last night it is more sedate. And by the way, the weather is cool. I was wearing a jacket. And the air was clear.

Over the last six years there has been an increase in the number of visitors to our country's wild spaces. While this poses challenges on management, we think it's a great thing! We could all use a little more exposure to nature in our lives. 💚

Starting this Saturday: NO OPEN FLAMES in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wildness!

Until the end of the month, unless rescinded or extended. Gas or propane cook stoves ARE allowed.

The potential for wildfires is high across all northern Minnesota right now, so let's all be vigilant.

Those of you who follow Stone Harbor know that one of my favorite spots is the High Falls on the Pigeon River on the Canadian border. Today I visited it once again from the US side of the border. And now that I am retired I really should spend more time visiting my favorite waterfalls

We got an update this week from the US Forest Service that the food storage order for the Boundary Waters has been extended for another five years. These best "bear aware" practices have proven to significantly lower the risk of bear/human interactions. Following the guidelines by storing anything that might attract wildlife, like food and toiletries, hung in a tree or stored in a certified bear resistant container makes our beloved wilderness safer for both humans and bears. We can all do our part!
