Guess his real name and win a lollipop! The Martian is Max’s current favorite book because it’s funny and the humorous parts don’t take away from the seriousness of the story. He’s on at least his 5th reading of this book—check it out at the GJHS Library!

Ms. Lori and I gathered the components of this pre-prom book display right before we went home for Covid in 2020. Now Ms. Peterson has put it all together. What a beautiful prom celebration of a book display!

Need an Irish story to celebrate St. Paddy’s? This one is a retelling of the Celtic Swan myth. Beautifully written, suspenseful, a little dark. I love this author and I love this book.

Seems like a good week to read something green! I’m thinking this Jane Austen rewrite is going on my list (something about the knife embroidered in the cover art…).

A strong woman, yes, but also two very crush-worthy guys! Throw in some magical realism (voices from that corn field, anyone?), and you’ve got one very amazing book!

I’ve been STRUGGLING to pick the best books featuring bada** women…and I just can’t pick one book. So: here are five of my fantasy favorites. Amazing stories featuring themes related to vampires, Arthurian legend, girl-disguised-as-guy, grown-up fairytale adaptations, etc. Soooo GOOD! Go girls!💪💪💪

Happy Women’s Day! “Whether a catcall, an unwelcome touch, or more, sexual aggression towards females happens daily; McGinnis explores how one teen uses violence for justice in this gripping story that should be read and discussed by teens, as well ad those who work with them.” —Booklist Magazine

Happy Woman’s Day (tomorrow)! This week we’ll be posting books by and about amazing girls/women. Elizabeth Acevedo is a Dominican-American poet and author who often features strong female main characters. I listened to the author read this one about a teen mom with a gift for cooking and a determination to do the right thing for her small family. Highly recommended!
