Good evening, TME families!

We want to share a quick update to our morning drop-off routine.

We have noticed that our car line has been backing up into the street more than usual. Beginning tomorrow, we will be moving cars forward to the end of the drop-off loop to allow more vehicles to enter the parking lot and help keep traffic moving.

For everyone’s safety, please do not have students get out of the vehicle until you reach the open-gate drop-off area at the bottom of the car drop-off lane. Ms. Kandi, our amazing librarian will be there to greet you. 😁Please also do not drop students off along the sidewalk near the breakfast room. This is slowing the flow of traffic and creates additional safety concerns.

We apologize for the shift in our routine, but we feel this will help us keep our students safe while making morning drop-off run more smoothly for everyone.

Our staff will be outside tomorrow morning to help guide families and support this transition. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and partnership!

TOMORROW IS THE DAY!

Tomorrow is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL (1st-5th graders—kindergarten students will be dropped off from 9:30-11:30 at the breakfast door), and we are SO thrilled to welcome our Thunder Mountain students back! 💙💚⛰️

🍎 Breakfast doors open at 8:30 AM
(FREE to all students)
🏫 School starts at 8:50 AM

Our students have been SO missed, and we cannot wait to fill our halls with smiling faces, excitement, learning, and laughter once again! We know it is going to be a FANTASTIC school year! 💚💙

Get a good night’s sleep, set those alarms, and get ready, Thunder Mountain students! We’ll see you TOMORROW!

What a way to kick off the 2026-2027 school year! 💙💚

Our Thunder Mountain team is officially back, and what an incredible first day it has been! We spent the morning learning and growing together at Thunder Mountain, then headed to Grand Junction High School for inspiring district professional learning. We wrapped up the day at the district-wide Block Party at Lincoln Park—what a fantastic way to celebrate the start of a new school year!

A huge shoutout to our amazing TME staff for presenting new learning today and to District 51 for making our first day back feel so special! Thank you for the warm welcome, the thoughtful planning, and for taking such great care of our staff.

Now the countdown is on…we can’t wait to welcome our amazing students back on August 11! (Kindergartners on August 13th)
