Congratulations to Julia Wildman, editor-in-chief of Colorado Mesa University's student newspaper The Criterion, on being named the 2026 recipient of the Society of Professional Journalists' Robert D.G. Lewis First Amendment Award.

Since joining The Criterion as a staff writer in Fall 2022, Julia has led the publication to national recognition and helped the CMU SPJ chapter earn over $1,000 in awards in its first year.

This October, Julia will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to accept her award and represent CMU on the national stage.
