The bill this article is talking about is Colorado HB26-1302. It was signed into law by Governor Jared Polis on June 3, 2026.

This bill landed in Polis' hands thanks to my Republican primary opponent, Anthony Hartsook.

Hartsook worked with radical anti-gun Democrat Andrew Boesnecker, the same House legislator behind Colorado’s disastrous semi-auto ban and permit-to-purchase scheme, SB25-003, which takes effect August 1, 2026.

After massive backlash from gun owners, Hartsook pulled his name and flipped his vote. But it didn’t matter. The Democrats already had what they needed, and they pushed it straight to Polis’ desk.

That’s the problem with Republicans like Hartsook. They care more about working with Democrats than standing up to them.

Coloradans need elected representatives who won't sell them out.
