White House border czar Tom Homan made these remarks during an appearance on Fox News' "Fox & Friends". He was responding to comments from California Governor Gavin Newsom's office regarding a fatal stabbing in Martinez, California, where a Venezuelan undocumented immigrant allegedly killed 68-year-old Todd Stewart. Homan stated:

“Bottom line is, we did our job! We found this person in your facility, we did further investigation to find out he's a criminal alien, then we issued a detainer, giving you full notice that when you're done with him, give him to ICE. We DID our job. YOU didn't do YOUR job!”
