I shared a dream a couple weeks ago and I keep feeling the Lord pulling me back to it โ€” like there's more He wants to say.

In it, I was walking through a large multi-level mall watching different men step onto escalators. And as they rose higher and higher, they began to physically change โ€” morphing from normal size into giant-sized men. Like the elevation was peeling back a mask and revealing who they actually were at their core.

God gave me a prophetic interpretation of that dream โ€” that we are in a season where elevation is revealing identity. That promotion doesn't create what's in a person's heart. It just makes it visible.

But as I kept sitting with the dream, I noticed something. There was one person I never saw in it. I didn't see David. Because David was never in the mall. He was never on the escalator. He was never in the place where people go to be seen, chosen, promoted, and platformed. He was in a field. Alone. With sheep. And I think that is one of the most important things God wants to say to someone reading this today.

The person God is about to use most significantly in this next season is probably not the one trending. They are probably not the one with the fastest-growing platform or the most viral content or the most impressive speaking schedule. They are in a field somewhere. Doing the unglamorous thing. Faithfully. Quietly. Without an audience.

They are killing lions and bears that nobody ever hears about โ€” not for recognition, not for content, not for a testimony to share on stage someday. They are doing it because the sheep need protecting and they are the shepherd and that is simply what shepherds do.

Here is what the story of David teaches us about how God elevates:
God does not start with the stage. He starts with the field.
He does not start with the crowd. He starts with the character.
He does not start with the platform. He starts with the private worship โ€” the kind David poured out in Psalms that were never meant for public consumption, that were raw and honest and desperate and real.

When Samuel came to Jesse's house to anoint the next king of Israel, every impressive son was lined up and ready. Tall. Strong. Presentable. The kind of men who looked like they belonged on a platform. And God said no to every single one of them.

"The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." โ€” 1 Samuel 16:7

David wasn't even in the room. He wasn't considered. He wasn't invited. The people closest to him didn't think he was a candidate. But God had been watching the field.
He had seen what David did when no one was looking. He had heard the worship no one else heard. He had watched the battles no one else knew about. And He had been building something in that hidden place that no escalator could have produced.

Friend, if you are in a season that feels like a field โ€” unseen, unrecognized, passed over, left out of the rooms where it seems like everyone else is rising โ€” I need you to hear this: God is watching the field.
He is not missing you. He is not delayed. He is not choosing everyone but you. He is building something in you in this hidden season that the escalator crowd will never have โ€” a depth of character, a root system of faith, a history with God in the secret place that will sustain you when the weight of the assignment comes.

Don't leave your field to get on someone else's escalator.

Don't abandon the process God has you in to chase the platform that culture is offering. Your moment is coming. And when it does, it won't be because you marketed yourself into it. It will be because God reached into the field and said โ€” "This one. I've been watching this one."

Stay faithful in the hidden place. The field is not a waiting room. It is a training ground.
And God never wastes a single day of it.

"His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.'" โ€” Matthew 25:21

If youโ€™re a ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฌ, this is one health number worth paying attention to. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ‘‰ Your ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ can tell you a LOT about your overall health.

In many cases, itโ€™s actually more useful than body weight alone because it gives insight into ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜€๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ.

Why does that matter? ๐Ÿค”

Because carrying excess fat around the midsection is linked to a higher risk of:

โค๏ธ Heart disease
๐Ÿฉธ Type 2 diabetes
โš–๏ธ Insulin resistance
โณ Faster aging

General guidelines:

โœ… Women: under 35 inches
โœ… Men: under 40 inches

Hereโ€™s how to measure it:

โœ”๏ธ Stand relaxed
โœ”๏ธ Find your natural waist (just above your belly button)
โœ”๏ธ Wrap a soft measuring tape around your midsection
โœ”๏ธ Exhale naturally and measure

Thatโ€™s it. โฑ๏ธ

Takes less than a minute.

And if your number is higher than youโ€™d like?

Please donโ€™t panic. ๐Ÿ’›

The same habits that improve:

โœจ Energy
๐Ÿ’ช Strength
๐Ÿ˜ด Sleep
๐ŸŒฟ Overall health

โ€ฆcan also help reduce waist size over time.

Things like:

๐Ÿšถโ™€๏ธ Moving your body consistently
๐Ÿฅ— Eating balanced meals
๐Ÿ˜ด Prioritizing sleep
๐ŸŒฟ Managing stress

Small habits really do add up. ๐Ÿ”โœจ

๐Ÿ“Œ Save this so you can check your number later.

If youโ€™re a ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ, ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜† ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒโ€ฆundefined this one is for you. ๐Ÿ’›

The other day, I was buried in work at my computer ๐Ÿ’ป when this thought popped into my head:

๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œIf you donโ€™t do your workout nowโ€ฆ itโ€™s probably not happening today.โ€

And honestly?
That little voice was right. ๐Ÿ˜…

So instead of:

โŒ Overthinking it
โŒ Negotiating with myself
โŒ Saying โ€œIโ€™ll do it laterโ€

โ€ฆI just got up and moved. ๐Ÿ‘Ÿโœจ

And wow โ€” the rest of my day felt completely different.

Hereโ€™s what I want you to take from this:

When that little voice in your head is trying to help youโ€ฆ listen to it. ๐Ÿ’ญ

Because if you ignore it long enough, eventually it gets quieter.

And usually?
Itโ€™s trying to steer you toward the things that help you feel your best:

๐Ÿšถโ™€๏ธ Going for the walk
๐Ÿฅ— Prepping the meal
๐Ÿง˜ Stretching for 5 minutes
๐Ÿ˜ด Going to bed earlier
๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ™€๏ธ Getting the workout done

In my case, the workout didnโ€™t need to be perfect.

It didnโ€™t need to be long.

It just needed to happen. ๐Ÿ’ช

And honestly? If I had sat there thinking about it for another 10 secondsโ€ฆ I probably wouldnโ€™t have done it at all. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The biggest win wasnโ€™t physical.

It was mental. ๐Ÿง โœจ

Because every time you listen to that little voice, you reinforce something important:

๐Ÿ’› โ€œMy health matters.โ€
๐Ÿ’› โ€œI show up for myself.โ€
๐Ÿ’› โ€œI can trust myself.โ€

And over time?
Thatโ€™s what makes consistency feel natural. ๐Ÿ”โœจ

So next time your brain gives you that tiny nudgeโ€ฆ

Donโ€™t overthink it.

Move before your excuses get louder. ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ“Œ Save this for the next time you need the reminder.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Follow for more real-life strategies that help ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฌ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜, ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป. ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ

In the dream I talked about last week, (if you missed it, you can follow my page Angie Rose Health Coaching or go look it up there)

The detail that has stayed with me the most isn't the giants. It's the escalator.Because an escalator doesn't require anything of you. You don't climb. You don't sweat. You don't press through. You simply step on โ€” and it carries you to the next level whether you are ready for it or not.

And I believe God was showing me something through that image that we desperately need to hear in this season. We have normalized effortless elevation. We live in a world where someone can go from unknown to influential overnight. A single viral post. A well-placed connection. A trending moment. The algorithm picks you up and carries you to an audience of thousands before your character has had a single chance to be tested at that level.

And the church is not immune to this. Ministry platforms, speaking invitations, podcast features, social media followings โ€” they can all come faster than the formation that should precede them.

Here is what I know from Scripture and from 15 years of watching people walk through real transformation: the wilderness is not punishment. It is preparation.Moses spent 40 years in the desert before he stood before Pharaoh. Joseph spent years in a pit and a prison before he stood before the palace. David spent years in the field, killing lions and bears that nobody ever saw, before he stood before Goliath.

None of them stepped on an escalator. They climbed. They were refined. They were broken and rebuilt. They were tested in private before they were trusted in public. And here is the painful truth about bypassing that process: you can arrive at a level your character was never built to hold.I have watched it happen.

Gifted people who rose fast and fell hard โ€” not because God didn't call them, but because the speed of their elevation outpaced the depth of their roots. The platform came before the pruning. The audience came before the altar. The influence came before the integrity had been hammered out in the quiet, unglamorous, unseen places. I have personally experienced this and it is a school of hard knocks.

The escalator feels like favor. But sometimes what feels like acceleration is actually a bypass of the very process God intended to make you safe at the top.I am not saying God cannot promote quickly. He can and He does. But even when God moves fast, He always does a deep work first โ€” in the hidden place, in the heart, in the private moments nobody applauds.

So let me ask you something honest: Are you pursuing the next level โ€” or are you pursuing the preparation for the next level? Are you asking God for the platform โ€” or are you asking Him to do whatever it takes in your character to make you someone who can steward it?Are you stepping onto every escalator that appears in front of you โ€” or are you pausing to ask: Is this God opening a door, or is this the world offering a shortcut?

The most dangerous prayer is not "Lord, hold me back." The most dangerous prayer is "Lord, hurry up" โ€” when what your soul actually needs is more time on the threshing floor.Don't rush the refinement. The higher He is taking you, the deeper the roots need to go.

"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." โ€” Isaiah 40:31

The ones who soar are not the ones who stepped on the fastest escalator. They are the ones who waited well.

The seats were empty during worship and full during the sermon. Then I heard a question in my spirit that I couldn't let go of.

"Where are My worshipers?"

For the last several weeks, something has been weighing heavily on my heart.

Every Sunday, our church begins with about 45 minutes of worship. Worship has always been one of my favorite parts of church because it helps me set aside distractions, focus my heart on the Lord, and enter into His presence.

A few weeks ago, I stayed in my seat with my husband instead of going to the front where I normally worship. As I looked around the room, I noticed something I hadn't really paid attention to before.

The sanctuary was mostly empty.

As worship continued, people slowly trickled in.

By the time worship ended and the message began, the room was nearly full.

Then I started noticing more.

People standing with their mouths closed.

People scrolling on their phones.

People making coffee.

People wandering the halls.

People intentionally arriving late so they could skip worship and come for the sermon.

A conversation from a few weeks earlier came flooding back to me.

Someone had said church was too long and that they only came for the message because that's what they wanted. Another person responded, "Just come late."

I couldn't let go of it.

As I stood in worship again this past Sunday, looking around at another half-empty sanctuary while worship was taking place, I felt something rise up in my spirit.

And then I heard these words:

"Where are My worshipers?"

Not:

Where are My attenders?

Where are My sermon listeners?

Where are My consumers?

But:

Where are My worshipers?

The more I have prayed about it, the more I realize this isn't really about attendance.

It's about affection.

It's about what happens when God's people begin seeking His hand more than His face.

Somewhere along the way, much of the modern Church has become incredibly good at receiving from God while becoming less interested in ministering to Him.

Many people come wanting encouragement.

Wanting answers.

Wanting breakthrough.

Wanting wisdom.

Wanting healing.

Wanting revelation.

None of those things are wrong.

But worship asks a different question.

Not:

"What can God give me today?"

But:

"What can I bring to Him today?"

The sermon is primarily for us.

Worship is primarily for Him.

The sermon asks:

"What is God saying to me?"

Worship asks:

"What is God worthy of?"

And here's what I think many people are missing.

Worship is not simply the music portion of church.

Worship is warfare.

We may not be standing on physical battlefields like God's people did in the Old Testament, but every believer is engaged in a spiritual battle every single day.

We battle fear.

We battle anxiety.

We battle temptation.

We battle discouragement.

We battle distraction.

We battle unbelief.

The enemy understands something many believers have forgotten:

A worshiping believer is a dangerous believer.

The enemy does not fear someone who occasionally attends church.

He fears a believer who has learned how to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus when life falls apart.

He fears a believer who chooses praise instead of panic.

He fears a believer who worships before the breakthrough appears.

Throughout Scripture, worshipers often went before warriors.

When King Jehoshaphat faced overwhelming enemies, God instructed him to send worshipers ahead of the army.

Not soldiers.

Worshipers.

Why?

Because worship establishes God's authority over the battlefield before the battle begins.

Worship changes atmospheres.

Worship breaks fear.

Worship strengthens faith.

Worship reminds us who is sitting on the throne.

The tragedy is that many people think they're skipping songs.

What they may actually be skipping is one of the greatest weapons God has given them.

They're bypassing the very thing that prepares their hearts to hear from God.

They're skipping the very thing that strengthens them for the battles they'll face throughout the week.

They're missing preparation while looking for revelation.

And here's another question I keep wrestling with:

When did we start deciding which parts of following God are optional?

We would never say prayer is optional.

We would never say reading Scripture is optional.

We would never say obedience is optional.

Yet somehow many believers have concluded that worship is negotiable.

Scripture repeatedly calls God's people to worship.

Not because God is insecure and needs our praise.

Not because worship leaders need an audience.

But because worship is the rightful response of creation to its Creator.

Yes, worship is bigger than singing.

Our obedience is worship.

Our surrender is worship.

Our generosity is worship.

Our lives are worship.

But let's also be honest about what Scripture shows us.

When Moses led Israel, they sang.

When David established worship, they sang.

The Psalms were songs.

Jesus sang with His disciples before going to the cross.

Paul and Silas sang in prison.

The elders and angels sing before the throne in Heaven.

From Genesis to Revelation, worship through song remains one of the primary expressions of God's people.

The style may change.

The instruments may change.

The culture may change.

But worship has never disappeared.

The reality is that many of us approach church like a buffet.

We take the parts we enjoy.

We prioritize the parts that benefit us most.

We participate in the things that fit our preferences.

But discipleship has never been about preference.

It has always been about surrender.

And perhaps that is what has grieved my heart.

I think many people have no idea what they're missing.

They think they're missing music.

They may actually be missing intimacy.

They may be missing preparation.

They may be missing spiritual strengthening.

They may be missing the very atmosphere where God softens hearts, shifts perspectives, and prepares people to receive His Word.

Because worship is not the warm-up.

Worship is not filler.

Worship is not the opening act before the main event.

Worship is part of the battle.

Worship is part of the preparation.

Worship is part of the victory.

The Father is seeking worshipers.

Not consumers.

Not spectators.

Not people looking for the quickest path to a sermon.

Worshipers.

People who love His presence.

People who seek His face.

People who come not only to receive, but to give.

And maybe the question the Lord is asking His Church today isn't:

"Where are My attenders?"

Maybe He's asking:

"Where are My worshipers?"
