A Message From the GILL Board of Directors:
As many of you know, this spring has presented Grand Island Little League with some significant challenges. Between one of the wettest springs in recent memory and the extensive construction taking place at Veterans Park, our fields were largely unusable throughout the month of May. At times, we faced the very real possibility of not being able to complete our season.
Thankfully, our community stepped up.
Under the leadership of Dr. Brian Graham and the Grand Island Central School District, we were generously granted access to the district's outstanding athletic facilities. Their partnership, flexibility, and commitment to our community's children allowed hundreds of young athletes to continue playing the game they love.
Simply put, they helped save our season, and for that we are forever grateful.
On June 16th, Grand Island residents will once again have the opportunity to vote on the Grand Island Central School District budget. While Grand Island Little League does not typically take positions on public matters, we do believe it is important to recognize the tremendous value that our school district brings to the youth of this community.
Beyond providing an exceptional education, the district supports programs and opportunities that help shape well-rounded young people including award-winning music and arts programs, modified athletics, field trips, clubs, extracurricular activities, and community access to first-class athletic facilities that benefit organizations like ours.
These opportunities help build the Viking Spirit that makes Grand Island such a special place to live, learn, and play.
The Grand Island Little League Board of Directors encourages every eligible voter in our league family to make their voice heard on June 16th.
Vote YES for our children, our schools, and our community
