We are sad to share that our Director of Marketing & Communications, Quinn, is saying goodbye to the LCofGI family. In her three years with us, Quinn has done so much for the Literacy Council of Grand Island, from communicating our mission and programming to the community, to connecting with students and volunteers, to launching last year's rebrand and new website. We're going to miss her bright smile and warm presence around the office, but we wish her all the best on her next adventure. Good luck, Quinn! πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯°β€

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?"

A wise question from the always inspiring Martin Luther King, Jr. What are you doing to answer it this MLK Day?

"I thought I'd be changing people's lives by volunteering at the Literacy Council, but now I'm realizing they are changing mine."

"All my students have enriched my life and opened my eyes in so many ways."

"I am my students' family and they are mine."

It's no secret that our volunteers come to the Literacy Council with the intention of giving back to their community, but they stay for the second home they find among the LCofGI family. For just one hour a week, you can, too. No prior teaching experience necessary; we'll meet you where you are with our volunteer training, support meetings, shadowing opportunities, and wide selection of readymade lesson plans and curriculums! All you have to do is have a passion for helping and connecting with ours and we'll do the rest. Message us here to start volunteering now.️
