Our mission is to strengthen the child care profession by helping provide high-quality, coordinated training opportunities while creating a strong network of support for local child care providers. We are a community of licensed family and child care center providers dedicated to supporting one another and promoting quality early childhood care t

hroughout the Grand Island, Nebraska area. We believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment- and that those who care for them deserve access to resources, training and community support. Through workshops, networking opportunities, and advocacy, we help providers grow in their profession and stay connected with others who share their commitment to children and families. Together, we’re building a stronger, more unified child care community- one that helps every child thrive.

Congratulations to the entire 2026–2027 Class 8 of Nebraska’s Policy Leadership Academy! 🎉

We are especially proud that four individuals from Grand Island were selected: Jessica Campos, Tammy Kresser, Carime Ruvalcaba, and Stacy Sullwold!

Having four members of this cohort representing Grand Island is an amazing accomplishment. We’re excited to see the knowledge, connections, and leadership they bring back to strengthen early childhood in our community and across Nebraska. Congratulations! 👏

Did you know a young child’s brain forms more than 1 million new neural connections every second during the first few years of life? 🧠✨

Simple everyday moments—talking, singing, reading, playing, cuddling, and responding to a child—help build the foundation for learning, relationships, and healthy development.

Child care providers do so much more than care for children—they’re supporting brain development all day long! 💛

Giving children simple choices throughout the day helps build independence, confidence, and decision-making skills.

Instead of saying, “It’s time to clean up,” try:
👉 “Would you like to pick up the blocks or the books first?”

Small choices give children a sense of control while still keeping the routine on track. 💛

Keep routines consistent during the back-to-school transition.

Starting a new school year can be a BIG adjustment for little ones! New schedules, earlier mornings, new teachers, and different routines can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Parents and child care providers can help by keeping things as predictable as possible—consistent bedtimes, morning routines, meal times, and pick-up routines can help children know what to expect.

And remember, it may take a little time for everyone to settle into the new routine. A little extra patience and consistency can go a long way! 💛
