After such an amazing week learning all about the incredible Community Helpers around us, it feels so good to end the week by returning that kindness and giving back to our own community! ❤️

Thanks to the generosity of our St. Timothy families, we collected an incredible amount of food to donate to the Neighbors Foundation of Grand Island, Inc.

It was an amazing week - thank you so everyone who helped us show our kiddos what being a community helper is really all about!

🚧💛 Community Helpers Week just keeps getting better! 💛🚧

Today we had an INCREDIBLE visit from the Grand Island Highway Department!

Deputy Highway Superintendent Mr. John kicked off the visit by reading a story to our kiddos all about Grand Island’s roads and the important work the Highway Department does to keep them safe and maintained!

Then it was time to head outside! 🤩 Our friends got an up-close look at a snowplow truck and a Gradall truck — but they didn’t stop there! Mr. Matt and Mr. Dakota put on quite the show, demonstrating the Gradall and showing the children how it moves, spins, reaches up high, and lowers back down!
Needless to say, the kids were AMAZED!

A HUGE thank you to the Grand Island Highway Department for taking the time to visit us and giving our students such a fun, hands-on look at the important work you do in our community! 🚧💛 We absolutely loved having you!

♻️🚛 Casella Waste Systems truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND for our kiddos today!

Their visit for Community Helpers Week was so much more than we could have expected! They not only brought their garbage truck for our friends to see up close, but they read us a story, provided everything for the kids to make their own “Dirt Cups,” AND sent every child home with a goodie bag and their very own Casella garbage truck toy!

We are incredibly grateful for the time, effort, and generosity Casella put into making today such a special experience for our kids. They truly thought of everything! Thank you for making Community Helpers Week extra memorable! 💚♻️

📚🚌 We had another special visitor today for Community Helper Week!

A BIG thank you to the Erie County Public Library Bookmobile for stopping by! 📖💙 We are so thankful for this amazing service that brings the library right to us!

Each child had the opportunity to explore the Bookmobile and check out a book of their very own to keep at school for the next two weeks! 📚✨

👩‍🍳🍕 Cooking Up Fun! 🧇🍎

Last week, our Summer Camp theme was “Cooking Up Fun,” and our little chefs were busy in every classroom!

Throughout the week, our friends got hands-on in the kitchen making and tasting some delicious recipes. A few of our favorites included Belgian waffles, apple “donuts,” s’mores, pizza, pancakes, and more! 🧇🍕🍫🥞

Our School-Age friends even ran their very own lemonade stand, making fresh lemonade and serving it to their friends throughout the center!

Even our youngest friends joined in on the fun with a Jell-O sensory table and opportunities to help mix pancake batter!

It was a week full of mixing, measuring, creating, tasting, and of course… Cooking Up Fun! 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳

Today our Preschool, Pre-K, and School-Age friends had an amazing time during their field trip to Play U! 🛝🏰 The day was filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of fun as they explored everything Play U had to offer.
