A meaningful experience representing the UND Instructional Design & Technology program at IgniteND 2026 at Valley City State University. At our program information table, we connected with K-12 educators, administrators, technology coordinators, and other stakeholders from across North Dakota and shared opportunities available through our graduate degree and certificate programs.

UND Instructional Design & Technology at IgniteND 2026
Dr. Woei Hung presented his research at the IgniteND 2026 Conference at Valley City State University, where K-12 educators, administrators, and technology coordinators gathered to explore emerging ideas and practices in teaching and learning.
His presentation focused on machine learning and its relevance for education, helping participants think critically about how emerging technologies can be understood and applied in meaningful ways. The session connected research, instructional design, and educational technology to the practical needs of today’s educators.
We are proud to see UND IDT represented at IgniteND 2026 and contributing to timely conversations about technology, learning, and the future of education.

UND Instructional Design & Technology at IgniteND 2026
On June 3, Dr. Tugba Boz presented her session at the IgniteND 2026 Conference at Valley City State University, engaging K-12 teachers, administrators, and technology coordinators.
Her presentation focused on why AI literacy should be taught before students and educators use AI, with an emphasis on responsible and thoughtful AI use in K-12 classrooms. Dr. Boz introduced key areas of AI understanding, including perception, representation and reasoning, learning, natural interaction, and societal impact.
The session included interactive activities where participants worked in groups to identify what counts as AI and explored classroom-friendly tools and platforms, including Quick, Draw! Dr. Boz concluded the session with an activity focused on how educators can address students’ misconceptions about AI.
We are proud to see UND IDT contributing to important conversations about AI literacy, responsible technology use, and K-12 teaching and learning.

The UND Instructional Design & Technology program is glad to be at the Conference in Valley City State University.
This two-day conference focuses on K-12 educators and provides a great opportunity to connect, share ideas, and discuss meaningful approaches to teaching and learning.
We are proud that Dr. Woei Hung and Dr. Tugba Boz are presenting their research at the conference. Our IDT program is also connecting with participants at our program information table, where we are sharing details about our graduate degree and certificate programs.
We look forward to connecting with educators and sharing how instructional design and technology can support learning across educational settings.
