🌑👨‍🚀 What does it take to live on the Moon?

UND is helping NASA find out. For the next 3 years, UND will be testing NASA’s waste-processing facility during Integrated Lunar/Mars Analog Habitat missions.

Developed by NASA, this cutting-edge waste-processing module was attached to ILMAH in early May in time for Mission XXVIII. This research will provide NASA with real-world operational results for a future lunar base waste collection and processing system. ♻️

UND has launched its' first-ever NSF Research Traineeship Program in North Dakota 🚰🌾👩‍🔬

Haochi Zheng, an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth System Science and Policy is the principal investigator for the $2 million grant funded through the National Science Foundation.

"The program will prepare graduate students to address complex water and land resource challenges through interdisciplinary research, advanced technologies and partnerships with government agencies, Tribal organizations and research institutions.

[...] Graduate students in fields including Earth System Science and Policy, Geography and Geographic Information Science, Atmospheric Sciences, and Aviation & Autonomous platforms, will participate in the program."
