Another great example of a student turning classroom knowledge into real-world experience!

"I am a Meeting Coordinator Intern at Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

My favorite part of my internship has definitely been the people. Everyone has been so welcoming, supportive, and fun to work with. They've helped me learn so much, and I've had the opportunity to experience many different areas of the company while building great relationships along the way. One of the highlights so far was getting to attend a St. Paul Saints game with the team, where I even got to go on the field and participate in one of the between-inning games. It was such a fun experience!

I got my internship through networking and building connections. The Pancratz Center played a big role in helping me prepare by reviewing my résumé and doing mock interviews with me. Those practice interviews helped build my confidence and made me feel much more prepared for the real interview process.

My biggest piece of advice is to be open to every opportunity that comes your way. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there, ask questions, and meet new people. Networking has been one of the most valuable parts of my college experience because you never know where one conversation or connection might lead. Stay curious, keep learning, and take advantage of every opportunity to grow."

We love seeing students step outside their comfort zones and grow! Way to go, Payton! 👏✨

"I am an Insights Intern at Choice Bank in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

My favorite part of my internship has been meeting team members across the organization and having the opportunity to learn from different departments. One of my favorite experiences so far has been working with the Marketing Department. I had the opportunity to create a LinkedIn post using Canva and collaborate with various marketing analysts and designers. It has been exciting to see how different teams work together and to gain exposure to areas I hadn't previously explored.

I obtained my position by applying through Choice Bank's website and through connections I had with individuals at the bank. While the Pancratz Center did not directly help me secure this internship, I found many of their job search and resume resources very helpful throughout my career preparation process.

My advice is to put yourself out there, even if you don't feel completely qualified or equipped for a position. It's okay if you don't know everything going in, you will learn on the job. Be willing to make connections, ask questions, and have conversations with professionals. Being bold and open to new experiences can lead to opportunities you never expected."

Love seeing our students build strong connections and make an impact in the Grand Forks community! 👏

"I am a Sales Development Intern at Titan Machinery, We are headquartered in West Fargo, but I work in the Bismarck CASE construction dealership as well as the Mandan New Holland agriculture dealership.

My favorite part of my internship so far is the relationship building with customers, especially on the ag side. I get to work with generational farmers and hearing their stories and experience in the field is amazing. It's a great privilege to be able to find solutions to these farmers' and ranchers' problems and get them the equipment they need.

I went to a career fair my freshman year and was very interested in the Titan Machinery table. They told me I can apply for my sophomore year for the internship and that's what I did. Without the career fair I wouldn't have found this internship, so the Pancratz center was a huge help in finding me this internship.

My advice for other students is just use your resources! I know I may sound like a broken record, but the Pancratz center offers so many benefits and programs, and they are free! Also get involved in extracurriculars whether that be clubs, Greek life, volunteering just get out there and meet new people and gain experience there is no better time to meet new people and expand on your knowledge than in college."

We’re so proud of you, Landyn! 👏

" I am currently working as an Internal Auditing Intern at MDU Resources located in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Some of my favorite parts of my internship so far has been getting real-world experience and seeing how internal auditing helps support business operations across the entire company. I also really enjoy getting exposure to other departments inside our company and learning how coworkers operate on a day-to-day basis. It’s been a great opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and apply what I’ve learned in the classroom.

I obtained my internship through a job search. Although I did not connect with MDUR directly at the career fair, It gave me important experience regarding connecting with companies and learning how to stand out to employers. The Pancratz Career Development Center helped by providing resources for resume building, interview preparation, and professional recruiting and development.

My advice for students is to not be afraid to apply yourself and step outside your comfort zone. Also take advantage of any and all resources available to you. Once you get your internship, network with as many employees as possible to give you a baseline of knowledge for how each department operates and give you a better understanding of what departments you may be interested in pursuing. Get involved, build your network and gain experience that will help you figure out what career path is right for you."

We’re so proud of you, Cole, and can’t wait to see what’s ahead! 👏✨

"I’m a Communications and Marketing Intern with Knife River. I work out of the corporate office in Bismarck, North Dakota.

My favorite part has been getting to work on a wide variety of projects and seeing how communications and marketing impact so many areas of the company. Every day is a little different, which keeps things interesting. I’ve also really enjoyed getting to collaborate with people across different departments and learn from professionals with a lot of experience.

I found this position on my own, so the Pancratz Center didn’t directly help me secure the internship. However, they have been a huge help throughout my college career with resume building, portfolio reviews, and interview preparation. Those resources helped me feel confident and prepared when applying for internships and going through the interview process.

Take advantage of opportunities even if they seem a little outside your comfort zone. You don’t have to have everything figured out before applying for internships. Also, use the resources available to you, whether that’s the Pancratz Center, professors, or networking events. The more experience and connections you build, the more doors will open for you.

This internship has given me a lot of hands-on experience and helped me grow both professionally and personally. It’s been great to apply what I’ve learned in the classroom to real projects, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a supportive team at Knife River."

Experiences like this are what set our students up for success! Keep up the great work, Elizabeth! 👏✨

"I am a 2026 summer GIS Intern with the Grand Forks County Tax Equalization

So far, I have loved every part of the Internship. From the amazing people in my department to the opportunities to apply the skills I have learned at UND to the great experience learning how the Grand Forks County tax equalization office works.

Over the spring semester, I struggled to find a summer internship; by the end, I nearly gave up. After meeting with the people at the Pancratz Center, who helped me refine my resume, improve my interview skills, and point me to useful platforms like Handshake, I was able to get this amazing internship.

My advice to students would be to apply to as many internships that fit with your skill set as you can. The more experience you gain, the more likely you are to get an internship. Do not get disheartened if you are not chosen for some of your internships; it may take several failed starts, but if you keep at it, you will land something."

Opportunities like this all start with putting yourself out there way to go, Ricardo! 👏
