A huge thank you to our incredible community partners for helping make DSS26 such a meaningful experience for our campers!
Throughout the week, students had the opportunity work directly with organizations that make a difference in our community. Thank you for opening your doors, sharing your stories, and trusting our students to help tell them.
Stay tuned as we spotlight each of our community partners and share the final videos created by our campers throughout the next few days!

Day 4 of the 2026 Digital Storytelling Summit was all about bringing projects to the finish line!
Campers spent the day refining their stories, editing videos, and preparing for today's final presentations. Along the way, they learned from industry professionals including journalists Allison Olimb, Joe Banish, and Chloe Piekkola, as well as Film North Dakota President Matt Fern, who shared their expertise and worked directly with students on their projects.
The day also included a campus scavenger hunt, plenty of collaboration, and a fun s'mores night to celebrate an incredible week together.
We can't wait to see our students showcase their hard work at today's final presentation! 🎥✨

Day 3 of the DSS26 ✅
Campers spent the morning sharpening their video editing skills before heading out into the community to continue work with their partners. Along the way, they met some adorable puppies, visited local small businesses, and even filmed a boxing class as they gathered interviews and footage for their projects.
Back on campus, campers got to know each other even better through icebreaker games, sharing everything from their favorite colors and middle names to their opinions in a cats vs. dogs debate.
We wrapped up the day with good food, great company, time together in the dorms!

From the newsroom to the community, Day 2 of the DSS26 was packed with learning and storytelling opportunities.
Students toured WDAY in Fargo, met with community partners across the region, and heard from Allison Olimb of the Walsh County Press about the vital role local journalism plays in our communities.
Another great day of learning, exploring, and telling meaningful stories!!
