A major part of studying at Konkuk University in Seoul is that they take us summer students on multiple field trips throughout the term! Some of the places we’ve visited include Gyeongbokgung Palace, the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea, a KBO baseball game, Gangchon Rail Park, and Naksansa Temple!

To Wrap up my time on the Study Abroad Account, I thought it’d be cool if I compile some of my favorite places I’ve been able to explore in Norway so far!

Slides 1-4: Alby Gård! This is a stunning farm about an Hour walk from where we stay in Moss. There they have a Cafe, a lot of Hiking Trails, and events like weekly 5k Runs!

Slides 5-8: Grünerløkka! This is a section of Oslo that has amazing hiking/walking trails, restaurants, and a very cool indoor Marketplace! It’s easy to get there with the train pass included in the tuition for the school.

Slides 9-12: Tønsberg! This is a town about an hour away from Moss. You can get there by taking a free Ferry ride from Moss to Horten and then a bus from Horten to Tønsberg. This town is a very cool coastal area that is home to so much Norwegian history. Here you can find the Remnants and Replicas of Viking Ships! There is a place on the pier where they make the replicas and also have a running ship. There is also a museum where they have history on Tunsberghus Castle, Blue Whales, and More Viking Ships! Speaking of Tunsberghus Castle, you can walk around the ruins of the castle and see some incredible views of the town.

Slides 13-16: Billund, Denmark! One amazing thing about living over here is how easy travel between Countries is. Denmark is about an hour flight and the tickets aren’t very expensive. I chose to go to Billund, Denmark because it is known as the Home of the Brick! I am a big fan of LEGO so this trip was a very cool experience to me. Billund had a lot for me to do! There was of course LEGO House where they had a whole history of LEGO. There is also a LEGOLand Resort with restaurants, rides, and LEGO experiences. The town itself is just a visually stunning with lots of places to walk around. There are so many options for a weekend getaway to experience a taste of another country!

Here are a couple of my Florence favs! 🇮🇹🍝🌟

Florence has been the most perfect home base, I can’t imagine a better place to live this semester. Some of my favorite things to do are simply going on walks and stopping to look at everything. There is always something new to notice, and exploring every little corner of the city has made it feel so much like home.

One of my favorite weekly traditions is going to my roommates’ and my favorite restaurant, Gusta Panino, every Sunday. They have traditional Italian food which we get to enjoy while catching up about all of our weekend travels. It’s such a simple tradition, but it has become one of the things I look forward to most each week.

I feel so lucky to call this city home for a little while. Living here has made me appreciate every opportunity. If you have the option to study abroad it is completely worth it!

I am about halfway through my study abroad semester 😢 and one thing I’ve been loving is adapting to the Aussie lifestyle. Some things I’ve noticed that Aussies focus on is a relaxed yet active lifestyle, spending time outdoors, food, rugby, sense of community, work-life balance, friendships, barbecues, travel, and an overall quality and enjoyment of life. These are all things that have made my experience so special!

Here are a few highlights from my study abroad experience so far 🌍✨
One of the best parts about studying abroad is the freedom to do as much or as little as you want.
I’ve loved trying new things, and meeting so many amazing people along the way.
Going to surfing competitions, learning how to surf, and see another part of the world are things I’ll always cherish!
