‘Indie bookstores still matter’: Third Grand Forks bookseller opening new storefront The number of independent bookstores nationwide has increased 70% over the last five years alone. Abby Berg, owner of Abigail’s Books, hopes to ride that resurgence.

We’ve had a busy spring semester! We forgot to post the past couple tournaments, so we’re putting it into one post!

Next up - the AFA National Speech Tournament at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR! Taya and Gracie have qualified and will represent UND!

We had a great weekend at the Icebox Classic at St. Cloud State University! It was a fun couple days (and late nights) with every student taking home awards in every event entered.

At the Icebox Classic in St. Cloud this weekend! Strong performances have led to outrounds in multiple events! Will know results later this afternoon.

Our spring semester started us off at Concordia College for VFL’s 3 & 4! While the high temps (maybe) topped at 0°, the hospitality and friendships were quite warm. Thank you Concordia for a great two days!

It was a lot of fun to host the VFL’s at UND this past weekend! Hosting a tournament on campus was a long time coming. We are grateful for the colleges, departments, teams, judges, and students for supporting the tournaments and bringing outstanding performances!

We are excited to welcome teams to campus for VFL 1 & 2 tomorrow and Saturday! Everything is shaping up to be a great couple of days.

Valley Forensics League Speech & Debate Judging We are looking for qualified judges for the Valley Forensics League (VFL) tournaments November 14-15 in Nistler Hall at the University of North Dakota. Qualified judges are anyone who holds at least a bachelors degree. Prior experience in speech or debate is preferred, but will train anyone interest...

First stop of the season - SDSU! We’ll be competing at the Jackrabbit Jousts and the Alumni Tournament over the next two days!

UND will be hosting VFL’s 1 & 2 November 14-15! It’s been a long time since we last hosted a collegiate tournament and we’re excited to have the VFL’s come to campus! Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for more information. If you’re interested in judging, we’ll post information as the dates get closer for you to sign up.
