📢 Important Update for Our TRIO Community
We want to share an important development that could impact TRIO Talent Search and Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) programs across North Dakota.
Recent changes to the federal grant (RFP) process may disrupt long-standing TRIO programs that support low-income, first-generation, and rural students in accessing college and career opportunities. If these changes move forward as-is, North Dakota students and families could be affected—and our state could lose critical federal funding tied to these services.
A bipartisan effort is currently being organized to encourage the Departments of Education and Labor to rescind and reissue these RFPs in their traditional format, while also maintaining strong support for TRIO programs in the FY2027 federal budget.
👉 What you can do:
We encourage you to stay informed and, if you choose, contact your elected officials to share your perspective on the importance of TRIO programs for North Dakota students and communities. If you choose to contact your senators, here's how you can start: https://canva.link/wx41spwot1bo7m4
⚠️ Please note: This post is intended for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a lobbying communication, but rather an effort to raise awareness about an issue affecting the students and families we serve.
TRIO programs change lives every day—and staying informed helps ensure those opportunities remain available for future generations.
