The Bushman School

The Bushman School This is a page to for survival, self-sustainability, bushcrafting, and general wilderness in the Eastern North Dakota regions. I want to hear from you.

This page is me trying to start bringing a dream to reality. I have for a long time had a love for the wild and traditional things. I look around and see my culture and generation wasting away precious gifts, resources, and talent on this modern world. I hope to learn as much as I can for a many different schools of a bygone era to one day be able to be self-contain, self-sufficient, self-reliant,

and more stress free. I will go through many different plants (edible and medicinal) as well as other food sources. I will adventure into food storage along with just plain creating some great meals along the way, and I hope to broaden some peoples minds to food sources in my adventures. I will look at some game catching devices, as well as go over some of the legal limitations of such actions like hunting, fishing, and trapping. Its my hope that i can spread to shelter creation as well, but that might be a ways into the future. I am willing to work out some times and dates with people for some face to face time in the discussion of above topics and more. I love bushcraft, bushwhacking, survival, self-relience, homesteading, and woodmanism in all its forms because you can never learn it all. "You should learn something new everyday, or else its not a day worth living." - The barefoot bushman. If you want to learn or have questions for me, don't just sit there, message me ASAP! I know quite a bit already but there is alway room for more. lets learn together. also this is not a school in the traditional sence of the word, but more a place to exchange knowledge and ideas with like minded people. i am not a "master" of any of these skills, however i feel that they should be studied by all. you can never have enough practice in honing your skills. Everyone has something to teach another, and everyone can learn.

Starting some weekend adventures.

So we started a new hobby for weekends. we check them daily due to regulations in North Dakota. When it rains it is best to reset the traps even if they are not sprung because of dirt hardens and it won’t always function properly. One of hopefully many more to come. Currently to date we have caught one skunk, one ground squirrel and a coyote. We have been able to shoot another skunk as well. It is currently early goose season so there should be some of that coming as the local farmers get their crop off! Timmy Hoffarth Dillin Jerome Tufte
