Happy International Day of Peace

Hooks are labeled and art has been hung. Names are on folders and rugs are rolled with care. Each work has been deliberately designed. Every detail has been carefully considered, reconsidered, and set with intention. Each child has been thought of with warmth and love as the teachers have prepared to welcome them back with open arms.

As we prepare to enter our 10th year of teaching at GBM, we rest our bodies and our minds, preparing for the long and rewarding days to come. Thank you to the incredible community that has supported us in this magical journey. We remember each child and their loved ones with fondness. Each and every community member who has walked through our doors has been an integral part of who we are as a school community today.

Growth Update!

We are proud to share that two important steps toward the vision of our campus are complete!

We are fully connected to the Grand Blanc municipal water supply!

We have a new fire monitoring system to keep our students safe!

Next up, framing will begin to add classroom space!

These first steps are not glamorous, but they were necessary for the children's safety and the program's growth. Thank you for being part of GBM's journey!

Today San and Laz of Gemini performed for the students and teachers of GBM. What a treat to see our favorite songs live! Gemini is dear to our Montessori hearts as we’ve been listening to them in our classrooms for over 25 years! Who can keep from dancing when that fiddle, penny whistle, or bones come out?!

Thank you to Gemini for sharing your love of music with yet another generation of children! Special thanks for including the well-loved and requested “Rooster Story” in your set!

Today, we celebrate what would have been Maria Montessori's 153rd birthday. In her honor, the American Montessori Society published a new article on the Montessori Life blog written by Charles Terranova. His open letter describes her life's accomplishments and ongoing legacy.

We are currently seeking a private piano teacher for our lower and upper elementary students. The position requires giving private piano lessons to students (and staff) on an individual basis during school hours.

Here we GROW again!

2015 Grand Blanc Montessori opens with one classroom and a capacity of 25 students.

2016 Licensed capacity increases to 30 students.

2017 The Redbud classroom is added and capacity grows to 59 students.

2018 Magnolia classroom welcomes Lower Elementary students.

2023 Purchase of the building and surrounding acreage!!! Addition of an upper elementary program.

This week the architect is hard at work drawing up the long term improvement plans for the building. Everything takes time, but the vision for our beautiful campus is coming along.

Thank you to our current families and alumni for your continued support as we grow to add programming and opportunities for your children.
