🏰📚 Learning, Growing, and Strengthening the Castle! 📚🏰

Today, Castlen Cubs’ staff participated in meaningful professional development focused on implementing Learning Intentions and Success Criteria and using a variety of strategies to check for student understanding. 🎯

Together, we explored ways to make learning goals clear, help students understand what success looks like, and gather meaningful feedback throughout instruction. From strategic questioning and turn-and-talks to exit tickets, student modeling, and more, these practices help us make informed instructional decisions and ensure our Cubs are actively engaged in their learning! 💙❤️

At The Castle, we believe that when we continue to learn and grow as educators, we create stronger opportunities for our students to succeed. We are proud of our staff’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence for every Cub! 🐾

Stronger instruction. Clearer goals. Greater success for every Cub! 👑

Please note the changes due to school closures on October 9.

Dear ,

As Superintendent, I must make all decisions with the safety and well-being of our students and employees in mind. We all know and recognize that weather conditions can be unpredictable and forecasts may change quickly.

After careful consideration of the latest weather information and the potential for inclement weather in our area, I cannot risk anyone’s safety, as again, the weather conditions currently remain extremely unpredictable. Therefore, all Mobile County Public Schools campuses and offices will be closed on Friday, October 9, 2026. I completely understand that closing schools can create challenges for families, and I do not take that impact lightly.

I appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we navigate circumstances that are ultimately beyond our control. Please continue to monitor official MCPSS communication platforms for any additional information or updates.

Sincerely,

Chresal D. Threadgill
Superintendent
Mobile County Public Schools

Mrs. Harrison’s counseling class is learning all about ways to show kindness, whether that be at school, at home, or in the community. Their lesson theme, “Pumpkin Spice & Tips to Be Nice,” ties in perfectly with our Caring Castlen Cub Character Trait for the month of October, which is kindness. Students are learning that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference!
