The last couple of weeks have been pretty heavy emotionally and busy for me at the craft café, so I’ve been deep diving into my personal artwork a bit differently. Now I am hooked making these tiny artist trading cards, also known as ACEO. For me, it’s been such a relief that I can sit down sketch and paint something out quickly, and not really be super concerned about the result. I’m getting ready to start posting all of these on my eBay, for auction as well as buy it now option. I think having a small piece of art is special to the person who receives it, and it helps me to know what people want me to contribute to the market. What do you think? 🤔

🎧Listen Linda, sometimes it’s okay to unplug from the work. Sometimes you need to let it go, or let it be, or just take a break. I highly suggest play, fun, exploration, experimentation when you are creatively constricted.
•
What I do when the art & creativity aren’t flowing:
• Spend time with my creative friends.
• Hang out in a third-space environment like Craft House, and stay away from my working studio.
• Just do something creative (like crafting) for the fun of it.
• Start reading, or studying more to reignite the vision & passion. Fiction is best in this case.
• Take a vacation or mini-break from all the creative stuff.

Summertime, yet still hoping for a cool autumn kind-of vibe but alas … heatwave in North TX.

Over here letting myself be grateful and give thanks in every season. Pondering the act of gratitude in extremely hot & dry times, literally & figuratively. Perhaps the key is to focus on the good that comes from dry times. Deep roots. Hardier plants. Resilience.
