Happy National Instructional Specialist Day!✨

Some people just have a way of making the people around them better. That’s exactly what Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Ferrer do for us.

They are the people teachers can call, the ones who jump in with an idea, help work through a challenge, celebrate a win, and always seem to bring a little more joy to the day. They each bring something different to our team, but both lead with a genuine love for teachers and kids.

We are really lucky to have these two in our AES family. Thank you for all the ways you support us, encourage us, and make AES better!🫶🏼

We’ve officially wrapped up the second week of GP2, and we have a BIG reason to celebrate!🎉

So many of our classes have maintained 100% attendance for the new grading period that they’ve earned a spot in the 100% Club!🏆

These classes are showing up, staying engaged, and making every school day count. We are so proud of our students and teachers for starting GP2 so strong. Way to show up, Acton!

We’re excited to celebrate this week’s Good News Call: Harper Godwin!

Harper has been working incredibly hard in math class, especially as she has been learning her multiplication facts. Her hard work and determination paid off this week when she mastered the skill on her math checkpoint!🎉

Mrs. Gill nominated Harper for her dedication and perseverance, and we are so proud of the effort she has put into reaching this goal. Moments like this are a wonderful reminder that hard work really does pay off!

Yesterday in Kindergarten, we had a little apple-filled fun celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day! Our Kindergartners learned all about this famous pioneer and his connection to apple trees while enjoying a day full of hands-on learning and fun.

From apple-themed activities to crafts, stories, and tasty treats, our little learners were busy learning, creating, and making memories together!

Definitely a CORE Kindergarten memory in the making!

Every Friday at Acton Elementary, we celebrate some of our amazing students who are part of the GCC Club! 💜

Students earn Golden Coins throughout the week for showing leadership, kindness, and being caught doing something great! 🪙
Then, every Friday morning, our Golden Coin recipients join Mrs. McPherson on the morning announcements so we can celebrate their accomplishments with the whole campus! 🎉

🎉 Introducing Our 2026–2027 AES Student Council & Student Ambassadors! 🎉

Our Student Council campaign season was one to remember! This year, 34 students stepped up and ran for an officer position, putting themselves out there and showing our campus what leadership looks like. Their speeches were full of personality and passion, their posters and props were next-level, and somewhere along the way, nearly 100 confetti cannons made an appearance. 😂

We could not be more proud of every student who had the courage to run. They worked hard, shared their ideas, and represented themselves with confidence. What a privilege it was to watch them step into leadership!

Our 3rd–5th grade class representatives were nominated by their teachers for being strong leaders and positive examples in their classrooms and around campus. These students have already shown that they are ready to lead, serve, and represent their classmates.

And now, we are excited to announce our 2026–2027 Student Council Officers!

💻✨ Gadget Guardians: Training #2! ✨💻

Our Gadget Guardians are becoming tech troubleshooting pros! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ At our second training, students learned how to check battery health, perform a hard reset, and protect our school devices.

The best part? 🤩 Students shared all the ways they have ALREADY put their troubleshooting skills to use after just TWO trainings! Talk about putting learning into action! 🙌

These tech-savvy leaders are taking what they learn from Mrs. McPherson and GISD IT, Roy, to help their classmates, solve tech problems, and remind everyone how to be responsible digital citizens. 💙💻

We are so proud of these young leaders and the important role they play in keeping our technology running smoothly at AES! ⭐

🏆 PE Coach of the Day! 🏆

Our Raffle Ticket Prize Winner Brazos Holliday earned a pretty awesome prize—he got to be PE COACH FOR THE DAY! 🎉

Brazos was prepared for the job with his very own button with his name on it and a whistle around his neck! He has been looking forward to this day, and he was ready to jump right in alongside Coach Tallent and Coach Johnson. He had a blast helping out and getting to be part of PE from the coach’s point of view!

We love seeing our students work hard, earn rewards, and get to experience special days like this! Way to go, Brazos! We hope your day as Coach was everything you were hoping for! 💜
