Wow, GMS Pirates—you made us proud!

Our first day was filled with excitement, smiles, and so many moments that reminded us just how special our school community is. Our students did an incredible job navigating new schedules, finding classrooms, and figuring out their lockers. For a first day, they handled it like pros!

Even more impressive was the kindness we saw throughout the building. Students helped one another find their way, opened doors, answered questions, and made sure their classmates felt welcome. We also loved seeing the respect and kindness our students showed their teachers. Those small moments made a BIG difference!

To our GMS families—thank you for sending us such amazing Pirates. And to our students, thank you for making our first day one to remember!

We are off to an incredible start, and we can't wait to see what this year brings!

A huge shoutout to **Sew Blessed Designs** for taking our vision and turning it into something our GMS staff can proudly wear! 👕✨ It is **extra special** because Sew Blessed Designs is not only a talented local business, but she is also a **GMS mom**! We love when our school community comes together to support one another. 💜

We also want to give a BIG **THANK YOU** to **Brother's Air Conditioning** and **FAI Engineers** for generously donating to make it possible for us to **gift these shirts to our GMS staff**! I am so honored to have had the opportunity to make Granbury Middle School’s teacher and staff tees this year! 🥹

Our GMS teachers and staff are hardworking, caring, dedicated, loving, and SO much more. They pour so much into our kids every single day, and getting to create something special for them was truly an honor.

🏴‍☠️ **PIRATE CAMP WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!** 💜💛

What a fantastic turnout for our incoming **6th grade Pirates** Monday! We loved welcoming so many of our newest GMS students and watching them jump right in. 🏴‍☠️

Our Pirates got to:
🔹 Tour the building and get familiar with their new school
🔹 Play games and have fun in the gym
🔹 Practice opening those lockers 🔐
🔹 Meet some of the people who will be cheering them on this year
🔹 Start building confidence for their first day of middle school!

We even had our very own DJ- Dr. Page!!!

What is Pirate Camp? It’s a FREE event for incoming 6th graders who get to meet other students and staff, learn about middle school, tour their new school, and have fun!

SCHEDULE:
* Monday, August 10, 2026
* Doors open at 8:30AM
* Optional parent meeting at 10:30AM
* Students dismissed at 11:00AM
* Students may show parents around the building until 11:30AM
