How do you address missed expectations without the drama? 🤐

Real leadership, especially in ministry, isn't about avoiding hard conversations. It’s about shepherding people through them.

Instead of demanding that someone just "own it," focus on the agreement to take the emotional sting out of the room:

💬 “We agreed to do X. Tell me how you missed that mark and what was going on for you?”

By pointing to the agreement, it stops being a personal attack and becomes a conversation about growth and integrity. Leading people well means caring enough to hold them accountable. Don't let the fear of losing a volunteer stop you from shepherding them well.

👉 Ask for reflection not to prove they heard you, but to ensure you communicated clearly.
“Can you reflect back on what I’ve said so I know I’ve articulated it well?”
