The purpose of the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program, commonly referred to as "Junior ROTC," is to instill a value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.

Congratulations to one of our former cadets, Sgt Lopez, on her recent promotion!

It is always a proud moment to see our alumni continuing to excel after high school and earning the trust and responsibility that comes with increased rank. Sgt Lopezโ€™s promotion is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving something greater than herself.

The leadership, discipline, and character she demonstrated as a Granbury MCJROTC cadet continue to serve her well as a United States Marine.

The Granbury MCJROTC family would like to congratulate former cadet Clarissa Layland on her recent pinning ceremony during Sail 250 in New Orleans!

๐ŸŽฏ Welcome, Coach Abby Gordon! ๐ŸŽฏ

We are pleased to announce that Granbury MCJROTC has appointed Abigail "Abby" Gordon as our new Rifle Coach.

A Granbury native, Abby returns home after an outstanding career as a nationally ranked collegiate athlete, Team USA competitor, and NCAA Division I coach.

Her accomplishments include:
๐Ÿ† Multiple-time All-American on the National TCU Rifle Team
๐Ÿ† Four-time Junior Olympic Qualifier
๐Ÿ† 2017 American Legion National Champion
๐Ÿ† Team USA Rifle Athlete
๐Ÿ† Competed internationally at World Cups as a Team USA member in Cairo, Egypt; Baku, Azerbaijan; and Lima, Peru
๐Ÿ† Resident Athlete at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center
๐Ÿ† NCAA Championship Competitor and National Runner-Up at TCU
๐Ÿ† Assistant Coach at Georgia Southern University, helping lead the Eagles to back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances and multiple conference titles

Coach Gordon holds a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Early Childhood Education from TCU and recently completed a Masterโ€™s Degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Georgia Southern University. Her expertise in mental management, focus, confidence building, and mental toughness will be a tremendous asset to our athletes.

We are proud to welcome her back home and excited for the impact she will have on the next generation of Granbury marksmen.

This incredible opportunity allows motivated students to experience the academic, military, and professional training environment of the Naval Academy while exploring future opportunities for service and leadership.

This prestigious program provides students with a firsthand look at life at the Naval Academy while challenging them to develop their leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills alongside some of the nationโ€™s top high school students.

We are proud to have Sean and Renee representing Granbury MCJROTC at โ€œThe Yardโ€ this week. Their selection is a testament to their hard work, character, and commitment to excellence.

Today, our MCJROTC Color Guard had the honor of supporting a local Memorial Day ceremony by presenting the colors in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend โ€” it is a time to pause, reflect, and honor the fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We are proud of our cadets for representing Granbury High School, the Marine Corps, and our community with professionalism, respect, and dignity.

Last night, the Granbury MCJROTC Color Guard had the honor of presenting the colors during the Granbury High School Graduation Ceremony. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Commanded by Cadet SgtMaj Hernandez, these cadets represented our program with professionalism, discipline, and pride in front of a packed Pirate Stadium and the Class of 2026.

The Color Guard is one of the most visible symbols of leadership and tradition, and last night they performed with the excellence expected of Granbury MCJROTC.

๐ŸŽ“ Today we celebrate the graduation of an outstanding group of young men and women from the Granbury MCJROTC program.

Over the past four years, these seniors have led from the front, served their school and community, competed at the highest levels, and represented our program with pride and professionalism. Their impact on this battalion will be felt for years to come.

Some are headed to college, some to military service, and others directly into the workforce โ€” but all leave here as leaders better prepared for the challenges ahead.

We are incredibly proud of each of you and grateful for the legacy you leave behind.

Letโ€™s congratulate 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company for being named our Honor Platoon of the Year!

The competition was close, but they prevailed through outstanding performance across all evaluated areas: PFT scores, rifle marksmanship, community service hours, GPA, and leadership.

A special congratulations to all the cadets of 2nd Platoon, especially Platoon Commander 2ndLt Seitz and Platoon Sergeant SSgt Flores for their dedication and leadership. Outstanding work and well deserved! Semper Fidelis!
