Bicycle Rodeo: What It Is and Why You Should Join
This brief overview describes what a Bicycle Rodeo is and highlights the benefits of participating in one.

A Bicycle Rodeo is a community-based educational event designed to teach participants—primarily children—the fundamentals of bicycle safety and handling skills in an engaging, hands-on setting. These events often include bike and helmet safety checks, instructional stations, and obstacle courses that simulate real-world cycling situations. Participants practice essential skills such as signaling, stopping, turning, and safely navigating traffic scenarios.

Benefits of participating in a Bicycle Rodeo include:

A stronger understanding of road safety rules and bicycle laws.

Enhanced confidence and control while riding a bike.

Increased awareness of the importance of protective gear and proper bike maintenance.

Encouragement of physical activity in a fun and structured environment.

A safe space to learn and interact with peers and community safety personnel.

You are warmly invited to attend the upcoming Bicycle Rodeo hosted by Bradyn Carpenter as part of his Eagle Scout Project on Saturday, May 3rd, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Participants are welcome to stop by at any time during the event. The first 50 participants will receive a free helmet—don’t miss this fun and valuable opportunity for the whole family!

Eagle Scout Hosts Community Bicycle Rodeo to Promote Safety and Fun on Two Wheels

Granbury, Texas — May 3, 2025 — Local Scout and Eagle candidate Bradyn Carpenter is proud to host a Bicycle Rodeo Event as his official Eagle Scout Service Project for the Boy Scouts of America. The Granbury community is invited to attend this free, family-friendly event on Saturday, May 3rd, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with participant pickup between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

Held with the goal of promoting bike safety, skills development, and a spirit of adventure, the Bicycle Rodeo will offer participants a chance to test their riding abilities through a series of fun and educational challenges. The event is open to children and young riders of all experience levels, and participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets.

“This project is all about giving back to the community and helping younger kids feel more confident and safe on their bikes,” said Bradyn Carpenter. “I’ve grown so much through Scouting, and it means a lot to be able to make a positive impact in a way that’s also a lot of fun.”

The event will feature safety stations, bike inspections, obstacle courses, and helmet fittings—all designed to teach essential bike handling skills and reinforce the importance of road safety.

Come support a local Scout’s journey to Eagle rank while enjoying a great day of learning, laughter, and pedaling!

For more information or to RSVP, contact Bradyn Carpenter at 469-309-3750 or [email protected].

Just received word that The Anchor Store at GHS earned their GOLD recertification as a School-Based Enterprise (SBE) from the National DECA office! ⚓🏴‍☠️⚓

This certification was awarded to 738 student based enterprises across the nation. Granbury first applied last school year by submitting a 50 page document on their operating processes covering topics like finance, promotions, human resources, and product management. This year, the team submitted an updated 25 page document with updated budgets and financial reports.

The team has earned two seats at DECA International competition in April hosted in Anaheim, California. Students will attend a networking event and then present their operational plan.

Another GREAT Pirate Day down in the Anchor!
