That’s a wrap on Session 1: The Great Acton Carnival! 🎪 Our learners had a fantastic time designing challenging, memorable spaces, working together as a team, and getting to know one another through clubs, adventures, and even conflict.

And then there are the things you can’t see in a photo — relationship building, character building, failures, trials and tribulations, and perseverance. That’s where the real growth happens.

It’s our favorite time of year at Sage Academy — Children’s Business Fair season! 💚

For the fourth year running, we’re honored to host the Granbury Children’s Business Fair right here on our campus: Saturday, November 21, 2026, 9 AM to Noon.

If you’ve never been — 21 booths, each one run entirely by a young entrepreneur ages 6 to 16. They build the brand. They make the product. They set the prices, make the change, and win over the customers. The adults? We just watch (and shop). 🛍️

This event is everything we believe in as a school: young people are capable of real things when we hand them real responsibility. Some of the most confident learner-driven moments we see all year happen behind those booths.

Seven school days in, and we have to brag on this group💚🦅

If I were nominating the most efficient governmental system I’ve ever seen, it would be the Discovery Studio tribe.

It’s hard to show on a day-to-day basis just how many steps go into building a tribe for Session 1. So I’m going to try by simply listing what these learners have discussed, proposed solutions for, and voted into permanent tribe culture since day one:

• Rules of engagement for discussions

• How to hold each other accountable to those rules — and the consequences when they’re broken (decided today!)

• A list of temporary promises to live by while they work toward their permanent studio contract

• How we greet each other every morning: singing a song together on Mondays, then practicing a greeting in a different language the rest of the week

• A system for keeping things clean after lunch

• A process for choosing lip dub directors: anyone interested made a sample video, and the tribe voted the best ones in

• Narrowing six songs down to the one everyone agreed on — four rounds of voting to get there

• Rules of engagement for reading with a buddy

• Rules of engagement for being in flow, including what to do if someone distracts you

They’ve also practiced solving conflicts at the peace table, and celebrated every time they’ve succeeded.

We can’t wait to see what they do next!👏🏻👏🏻

Before the math. Before the writing. Before anything else… we build the tribe. 💚

The first six weeks in our Discovery Studio aren’t about racing into academics — although we get there — it’s about becoming a team. This week our learners took on a listening game challenge where the only way to win was to truly hear each other. No talking over. No taking over. Just working together.

Because here’s what we know: learners who trust their tribe take bigger risks, ask braver questions, and hold each other to higher standards all year long.

The tribe comes first. Everything else is built on top of it. 💚

Nothing says “fresh start” like a foam party! 🫧 Last night our Welcome Ceremony wrapped up with bubbles, giggles, and squeaky-clean fun.

Tomorrow, we kick off Year Four — and after last night, you could say we’re starting the year off clean. 💚 Let’s go, heroes!

Week 3 of Passion Project Quest💡📚✨

This past week, Adventure explored an Eagle’s passion project: Clay!🏺Adventure learned different clay techniques, practiced using clay tools, and then put their new skills to work by creating either a Granbury monument or the Titanic. Once their creation dried, they added some finishing touches with paint.🎨

Meanwhile, Discovery continued making incredible progress on their individual passion projects. The hard work, creativity, and dedication they’ve shown has been amazing to watch, and we can’t wait to share it all with you at Thursday’s exhibition!!✨

Just one more week to go! We can’t wait to celebrate all of our Eagles’ hard work! 🦅💚
