Good Morning, Gator Families! 🐊💚💛

Just a friendly reminder regarding PTO communication.

If you have questions about PTO-related events or activities, please feel free to contact the PTO President or any current member of the PTO Board. We’re always happy to assist!

We simply ask that phone calls and text messages be made during reasonable daytime/evening hours. Messages received outside of those hours will be responded to as soon as possible during the day. We appreciate your understanding and consideration of our board members’ personal and family time.

🐊 PTO Meeting Coming Soon!

Our first PTO meeting of the school year is coming up! This meeting is for our current PTO members, those who have recently joined, and parents/guardians who have expressed interest in becoming a part of the PTO.

Reminder: PTO dues are due Tuesday, August 25th.

We’re looking forward to a great year of working together, supporting our students, and making this school year a great one for our Gator community!

We’re inviting all of our wonderful Gator grandparents to join us for a special morning of good food, sweet memories, and quality time with your favorite student!

Date: Thursday, September 3rd or Friday, September 4th
Time: 7:00-7:50 AM
Location: GES Cafeteria

All tickets must be purchased in advance on School Cash Online.

From a Student’s Idea to State Law!

Paisley is being honored Monday, August 24th for her support in the Louisiana House Bill 782. Representative Ken Brass wrote a bill based on Paisley’s proposal. Paisley was able to support the process with her testimony in front of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee. The bill passed both House and Senate Chambers and now is an official Law of Louisiana.

What an incredible example of the power of a student’s voice! Thank you Paisley for showing our students that ideas matter, voices can make a difference, and everyone has the power to help shape the future of our communities.

📣 Calling all student leaders!
St. James Parish Schools is now accepting applications for the Superintendent's Advisory Council! This is a chance for students to have a direct voice in our district — sharing what's going well and helping identify areas where we can grow. This council is open to students in grades 7-12.

In order to be considered for membership, students must complete an application. If a student has sat on the council in the past, new applications must be submitted to be considered for this school year's council. Applications can be found at https://www.stjames.k12.la.us/default-board-posts-page/~board/st-james-parish-schools-news/post/2026-2027-superintendents-student-advisory-council-applications-now-accepted you may pick up a hard copy of the application from the School Board Office, or you can email [email protected] for a copy of the application. The deadline for Student Advisory Council Applications is Friday, August 28 by the end of the day.
