To celebrate our students' dedication to being on time and ready to learn, this morning every single student who arrived by 8:00 AM walked in to a sweet surprise—a fresh donut to start their day off right!

To make the morning even sweeter, we held a special raffle drawing for students with perfect on-time arrival. Congratulations to all of our lucky winners who picked out some awesome GV swag! 💙🦅

Being here every day and on time sets our students up for success. Thank you to our amazing families for supporting morning routines and getting our kids to school safely!

🎉 What an incredible turnout for our 6th Grade Mixer!

Last Friday we had over 130 of our awesome 6th graders join us for an afternoon full of high energy, laughs, and new connections. Our newest middle schoolers jumped right into the fun—playing games, dancing to Just Dance, getting creative with rock painting, and crafting customized backpack keychains to show off in the halls.

It was wonderful seeing everyone mingle, relax, and settle into the middle school community. Check out a few snapshots from the event below. We’re looking forward to a fantastic school year ahead!

On Friday, our social studies classes spent time reflecting on the 25th anniversary of September 11. Our social studies teachers did an outstanding job guiding students through the history, honoring the lives lost, and discussing how communities across the nation came together in the aftermath. Teaching middle schoolers about September 11 is about much more than covering a date on a timeline—it teaches students to honor the lives lost, including the brave first responders who put others before themselves. It instills an appreciation for sacrifice, heroism, and service to one's community. By guiding our 550 students through these lessons with care and age-appropriate reflection, we help them grow into empathetic, informed, and thoughtful members of our community.

Tomorrow is National College Colors Day. Students can trade their usual school outfit for gear representing their favorite college, university, or trade school. They can wear a t-shirt, hoodie, jersey, hat, or their school’s favorite colors. So tomorrow, remind students to wear their gear and represent their favorite university or future campus!
