Do you know about the internships, apprenticeships, work-based learning experiences, job opportunities, industry-recognized credentials, and career exploration opportunities available for ABSS students through CTE?

CTE is more than just a class—it’s an opportunity to explore careers, gain real-world experience, build skills, and prepare for what comes next!

If you don’t know the answer to these questions, reach out to your school’s Career Development Coordinator (CDC). You never know where an opportunity could lead!

Meet your ABSS CTE CDCs!✨

What does a CDC do for students?

- Help students explore career interests, career pathways, postsecondary education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Coordinate and expand work-based learning opportunities, including internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, and other career experiences.
- Assist students in developing employability skills, including résumé writing, interviewing, professional communication, and workplace expectations.
- Coordinate career development activities and events for students.
- Support CTE teachers by connecting classroom instruction with real-world career and workforce opportunities.
- Help students identify and pursue industry-recognized credentials, certifications, and other career-ready opportunities.
- Track and maintain required work-based learning documentation and student information.
- Help ensure students have access to opportunities that prepare them for college, careers, military service, and the workforce.

🎉 Welcome Back Day 3! 🎉

Today, our Family & Consumer Sciences, Health Science, and Public Safety teachers came together for another great day of professional development!

Teachers received important updates, evaluated data, and learned more about opportunities available through our incredible community partners. A special thank you to members of the Alamance-Caswell Builders Association and Alamance Community College for joining us and sharing valuable opportunities, including information about ACC’s BioWork program.

We’re excited for another great year of preparing students for their futures! 💼🔬👩‍⚕️🚓
