What does a CDC do for students?
- Help students explore career interests, career pathways, postsecondary education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Coordinate and expand work-based learning opportunities, including internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, and other career experiences.
- Assist students in developing employability skills, including résumé writing, interviewing, professional communication, and workplace expectations.
- Coordinate career development activities and events for students.
- Support CTE teachers by connecting classroom instruction with real-world career and workforce opportunities.
- Help students identify and pursue industry-recognized credentials, certifications, and other career-ready opportunities.
- Track and maintain required work-based learning documentation and student information.
- Help ensure students have access to opportunities that prepare them for college, careers, military service, and the workforce.
