🚸 Back to School = More School Buses on the Road 🚸

As our students and surrounding counties head back to school, please remember to drive carefully around school buses. Children are counting on drivers to make safe choices.

✅ Stop when the bus has its stop-arm extended and red lights flashing – it’s the law.
✅ Never pass a stopped school bus picking up or dropping off children.
✅ Slow down in school zones and watch for kids walking or biking to class.
✅ Stay alert – children may cross the road unexpectedly.

🚨 LOST DOG – Please Help Find Sambo! 🐾

The Middlesex Police Department is assisting in the search for Sambo, a large white Great Pyrenees who went missing on Saturday, June 21, 2025, around 8:00 AM from the area of 7959 S NC 231, Middlesex.

📌 Sambo is CHIPPED but is not wearing a collar due to a medical hot spot on his neck.
👀 He was last spotted near a field and may still be in the surrounding area.

Today, the Supreme Court upheld 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8)which is a federal law that prohibits individuals subject to DV protective orders from possessing fi****ms. This ruling represents a significant victory for survivors of domestic violence.

"When a restraining order contains a finding that an individual poses a credible threat to the physical safety of an intimate partner, that individual may—consistent with the Second Amendment—be banned from possessing fi****ms while the order is in effect."
