🍂🍁 Drayton FFA is Giving Back to the Community! 🍁🍂

Have a yard full of leaves that needs some attention? Our Drayton FFA members are ready to help!

From October 19–23, Drayton FFA students will be volunteering their time to help rake leaves and clean up yards throughout the DRAYTON community.

This is a great opportunity for our students to get out into the community, lend a helping hand, and make a difference right here in Drayton!

💙💛 Drayton FFA Starts the Year Strong! 🌾

We are excited to introduce the 2026–2027 Drayton FFA Chapter Officers!

These students are stepping into leadership roles and are ready to make a difference in their chapter, school, and community!

Under the guidance of advisor Adam Riddle, who is entering his fifth year teaching in Drayton, the chapter has grown to 45 members and is already keeping busy!

Members have been putting their talents to work preparing projects for the Walsh County Fair, including everything from agriculture projects to woodworking.

The chapter is also kicking off its fall fundraiser by helping with landscaping projects throughout the Drayton community. What a great way for students to gain hands-on experience while giving back!

👏 We are excited to see what this group of student leaders and their fellow FFA members accomplish this school year!

💛 North Valley DECA is going ALL IN for Cora! 💛

This year, our North Valley DECA students chose to dedicate their Community Giving Project to Cora and her family. They have been busy planning, reaching out to businesses, organizing volunteers, and getting everything ready for the All In for Cora Drive-Through Dinner on October 17!

And they have set a BIG goal of 500 meals and at least $7,000 raised for Cora and her family! Don’t wait to order! Meals are limited, and pre-orders will close once we reach our capacity. Reserve yours today!

Last Friday, students in Mrs. Shuley’s Financial Literacy class had the opportunity to hear from Jesse Forster as he shared his professional journey and some great advice about careers, education, finances and planning for the future.

One of Jesse’s biggest messages to students was to do what you love and the money will follow. He encouraged students to take classes that interest them, figure out what they are good at and use those experiences to help discover what they may want to do in the future. He also reminded them that it is okay to change their minds along the way.

Jesse talked about the importance of job shadowing, making sacrifices now that can benefit your future and building relationships with the people around you.

A few more pieces of advice he left with our students:

• “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”
• “Success finds you where you least suspect it.”
• “Be you. Be different!”
• Surround yourself with the right people and lean on the relationships you’ve made.
• “The word NO is a yes disguised in a lesson.”

Thank you, Jesse, for taking the time to share your experiences and knowledge with our students. Opportunities like this give students a chance to hear from people in the real world, ask questions and start thinking about the different paths their own futures can take!

💙🔨 Mr. Sanders’ Construction students have been busy! 🔨💙

Students in Mr. Sanders’ Construction class put their skills, time, and talent to upgrade and repair the hot cocoa hut and several freestanding wooden trees for Grafton’s annual “Lights in the Park” event.

Projects like this teach more than construction skills—they also provide valuable lessons in teamwork, community involvement, and giving back. We’re proud of the work they’ve done!
