It feels like just yesterday they were walking into preschool with a tiny backpack and now you're prepping for Grafton High!

Meet our New Biology Teacher

Ella Grant is a first year teacher who is thrilled to begin her career in Grafton! This past May she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education with a Life Science concentration and a minor in Biology from the University of Maine at Farmington. During this time, she completed numerous substitute teaching and student teaching experiences in the local Spruce Mountain School District in Jay, Maine.

Integrating research and investigation into the classroom is at the center of her teaching. Throughout her undergraduate work, she engaged in a multitude of research projects including topics like fruit fly genetics, changes in aquatic macro-invertebrate populations, and temperature influences on bacterial populations. Sharing these experiences with students and allowing them to embark on their own research endeavors in the classroom is a highlight for her!

Outside of the classroom Ms. Grant has a passion for field hockey as both a player and a coach. She is thrilled to immerse herself into the Grafton community through coaching the middle school field hockey team this fall!

Welcome Director of Counseling Becky LaRoche!

I am thrilled to be joining the Grafton School Community as your new Director of Counseling!

Prior to coming to Grafton, I spent 23 wonderful years at West Boylston Middle/High School working as both a middle school and high school counselor, as well as serving as the Program Leader for the Counseling Department for the past 11 years. Throughout my career, I have learned that the heart of effective counseling lies in strong connections. I highly value building authentic relationships with students and families, and I firmly believe in the direct link between these relationships and student success.

On a personal note, I live in Leominster with my blended family of seven and our lovable dog, Midas. In my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors, whether it is hiking, biking, running, skiing, or simply taking in the beauty of nature in my backyard, by a beach, or from the top of a mountain.

I am truly looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families of Grafton. Please feel free to reach out or say hello. I can't wait to work together to support our community.
