Today’s stop on the Child Care Appreciation Tour was all about recognizing and celebrating the legislators who support young children, families, and the child care workforce across our state.

We are grateful for the time, attention, and commitment these leaders bring to strengthening child care in West Virginia. Taking a moment to say “thank you” matters, and we appreciate their partnership in this important work.

Thank you to our lawmakers who were in attendance.

A special thank you to the WV Secretary of State's Office for helping highlight the importance of child care and early education and for joining us in recognizing those who champion these efforts.

Today our teachers Miss Kara and Miss Nevaeh in Class 5 created a quicksand and dinosaur rescue! They made ‘quicksand’ using cornstarch, water and food coloring along a few beads mixed in to create a rocky terrain! The kiddos then had to use their fine motor and problem solving skills to carefully remove the beads and rescue the dinosaurs! Miss Kara and Miss Nevaeh said they had a T-Rex-cellent time! 🦖😎

Our littles have been hard at work exploring new art materials! 🖌️🎨 Given the opportunity to explore objects and materials, children are able to use their senses, enhance their fine motor skills and experience the cause and effect of materials. Fine motor skills help children demonstrate dexterity and hand eye coordination in using their small muscles. 💪🏼
