GT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL---NOVEMBER GRATITUDE PROJECT
The Character Council decided to do a fun gratitude project this month where parents and students can recognize specific staff at the school. This can be any classroom teacher, para, custodian, office personnel, specials teachers, lunch staff, bus drivers, etc. You can do this for ANYONE who works at the school with our kids who you feel grateful for and want to recognize.

In 2nd grade SEL today we watched our gratitude sing along and practiced some hand motions with it. Then we watched a video on having an attitude of gratitude and what that means. The class then worked on this sheet- I'm Thankful A to Z- individually. They came up with so many great ideas!

Had 5th grade book club today. We meet every week over the lunch period. We're reading Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. It's about appreciating our differences, overcoming adversity, friendship, bullying, dyslexia and learning differences, and teacher/student relationships.
They each have personal bookmarks to use for our group also.

We had our Veteran's Day program here at the elementary school in Terril this morning.
The Character Council helped greet the Veterans and guests and handed out program flyers. They also read the names of the Veterans who were in attendance. After the program we went to the edge of town to be present for the unveiling of the Blue Star Memorial that was given to the town of Terril. This is a huge honor as only 5 towns in the state have the Blue Star Memorial marker!
