MU Extension 4-H is exploring a new hands-on after-school program for East Buchanan and surrounding area students ages 8–13, and we want your input!

Youth could explore sewing, art, robotics, geology, bicycling, gardening, animals, cooking, photography, outdoor adventures and much more!

Dear East Buchanan Elementary Families,

What a wonderful evening we had at our Open House last night! We loved seeing everyone in the building and connecting with our school community. Thank you for making it such a special event!

As we prepare for the new school year, we want to share a few important updates to help ensure smooth operations and keep our students safe and focused on learning.

Lunch Changes
Please note that microwaves will not be available for elementary student use during lunch this school year. We ask that you plan to send your child with a lunch that does not require heating. We understand this is a change from previous years and we truly appreciate your support in helping us make this transition as smooth as possible.

Electronic Device Policy
Elementary students should not have electronic devices out or in use beginning at 7:30 am when the building opens until they have left school grounds for the day. This includes, but is not limited to, cell phones, smart watches, iPads, Nintendo Switches, gaming devices, and other personal electronic devices. Any electronic devices brought to school must remain stored away and not on the student while on school grounds.

Arrival and Dismissal
Please see your email for the pdf version of the Arrival and Dismissal Procedures.

Student Absence
If your child will be absent from school, please contact the elementary office at 816-424-3111 by 8:45 am to verify the absence. Please note that all absence calls should be made to the office and not directly to teachers. This helps us process absences efficiently and ensures that your child's attendance is properly documented.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to ensure our students are prepared and ready to learn each day. We are ready for a FANTASTIC year at EBES!

Parents & EB Community Members,
Please consider supporting the EBHS Booster Club this year. Membership is only $10 and it all goes back to the students & staff. We support everything from sports teams to academic & extracurricular clubs. We have provided multiple scholarships to Seniors, which require membership to be eligible. Participation in meetings & committees is optional, but appreciated. Please print and return the attached form to the office with your payment or bring it to our first meeting on Tuesday, August 25th at 7:30 pm in the HS Commons. We hope you can join us.

The message sent yesterday about pictures states "to ensure your child is photographed and included in school resources, you will need to pre-order online". Just to clarify, you do not have to purchase anything from Wagner in order for them to be photographed and included in the yearbooks. We apologize for the confusion.
