1. Our Summer Musical Theatre Camp show will be "Catch Me If You Can."
2. Applications for Musical Theatre Camp are being accepted now.
Musical Theatre Camp is a two-week experience for high school students designed to encourage the study of acting, singing and theatre production. The camp is part of SMC's Summer Institute, a series of camps designed to help high school students refine their skills and explore career interests.
Camp dates are July 14-28.

While the diaphragm is an essential muscle for breath support and for the production of sound, you canât actually direct your diaphragm to do anything because it is an involuntary muscle. Just like another very important involuntary muscle in our body, the heart, the diaphragm has an essential job to do, but we cannot directly control it. Telling a singer to âuse your diaphragm!â is like telling an athlete to âpump your heart!â Itâs an impossible request and contributes to much confusion around the nature of breath support for singing.
Singers, Stop Trying to âUse Your Diaphragmâ Next time a voice instructor tells you to use your diaphragm, know what they really mean, and know how to effectively support your breath!
