Hello GC! Your Student Senate is getting ready to wrap up the year with the spring semester State of the Student Address this coming Monday, April 8. Today, we discussed details of the Address, approved some funding for LSU, and approved a new club, among other things.

Any student interested in running for the 2019-2020 Student Senate may fill out an election application at the following link:

All Senators will be elected in the spring semester with Cabinet positions being determined in the fall. Students planning on being on SST either semester next year have an opportunity to run on a ticket with another student or solo.
Students serving on Student Senate have an opportunity to drive campus change, impact policies and practices, and gain leadership experience. The 2018-2019 Student Senate were instrumental in increasing environmental impact awareness on campus, facilitating conversation between students in Open Space conversations, and implementing Gender Inclusive Housing. Any student is welcome and encouraged to apply regardless of identity, class standing, or residential status in order to create a Senate that is representative of all campus need.

Student Senate will be hosting its first Open Space of the semester tomorrow from 11:30-12:30 p.m. in the KMY Connector 3. As usually, there will be yummy food! Come eat and hear an awesome panel honoring women’s history month by honoring women in leadership positions!
The panel will include:
