✨ Lots of exciting things are happening at Waterford Elementary! ❤️🖤🤍

Our Leadership Students officially got started last week, and they are already making a difference around our school! 🌟

💪 They helped unload our beautiful mums, 🎙️ began helping with morning announcements, and ♻️ started taking on their recycling duties. We are so proud to see our students stepping up, taking responsibility, and showing what it means to be a leader!

💭 Feelings & Emotions: Our school counselor, Mrs. Martin, has also been spending time with our students talking about feelings and emotions. These conversations help our students understand their feelings, learn healthy ways to express themselves, and build skills for navigating everyday challenges. ❤️

👨‍👧‍👦 ALL PRO DAD IS COMING! 🎉

Join us on October 1st as we launch our All Pro Dad Chapter for the new school year! Dads and kids will have the opportunity to connect through fun activities and meaningful conversations each month. 🏆❤️

✨ What a busy week it was at Waterford Elementary! ❤️🖤🤍

Even with a short school week because of Labor Day, our Wildcats packed it full of learning, adventure, connection, and plenty of Waterford pride! 📚🌎✨

🏕️ Our 4th graders went on their very first field trip to Camp Friedenswald! From the smiles and excitement, it looks like they had an absolute blast! We love seeing our students learning, exploring, and making memories outside of the classroom. 🌲🚌☀️

🤝 Our PACT Mentors from Goshen High School also got started this week! Our high school mentors met their students and began building those special connections that make mentoring so meaningful. We’re excited to see these relationships grow throughout the year! ❤️🖤🤍

🎟️ And Friday was a BIG day for our Golden Ticket winners! ⭐ Students who have been showing one of the Wildcat Ways—being Responsible, Kind, Safe, Hardworking, and Persevering—have been earning Golden Tickets for their positive choices and actions. 🐾⭐

Congratulations to our Golden Ticket winners! 🎉 Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade winners get a very special reward: lunch with two friends at their very own lunch table! 🍎🥪👫 What a fun way to celebrate students who are making great choices and showing what it means to be a Waterford Wildcat!

We are so proud of all of our students for the way they continue to learn, grow, encourage one another, and show the Wildcat Ways every day. ❤️🖤🤍

✨ It’s been a busy week at Waterford Elementary!

Our Wildcats have been working hard, learning, growing, and making memories—and now it’s time to enjoy a nice, long 3-day weekend! We hope our students and families have a safe, relaxing, and fun Labor Day weekend. We’ll see everyone back at school on Tuesday, ready for another great week! 📚🌎✨

🍬 Have you tried the new candy at the Nut Shop in downtown Goshen? 👀

Here’s something extra special—this new candy was created by our very own Waterford 3rd grade students last year! Their creativity made it all the way from the classroom to a local shop! How cool is that? 🎉

🌟 5 Ways to Start the School Day on a Positive Note

Coming back from a long weekend can make mornings a little tricky, so here are five simple ways to help our elementary students start the day strong:

1️⃣ Get a good night’s sleep. 💤 A rested brain is a ready-to-learn brain!

2️⃣ Eat a healthy breakfast. 🍎🥛 Starting the day with a good breakfast helps give students the energy they need to learn and participate.

3️⃣ Get organized the night before. 🎒 Pick out clothes, pack backpacks, and get everything ready before bedtime to make mornings less stressful.

4️⃣ Start with a positive thought. 💭 Encourage your child to think of one thing they’re excited about at school or one goal they want to accomplish that day.

5️⃣ Walk in with a smile and a “ready to learn” attitude! 😊📚 A positive start can make a big difference in the rest of the day.

🌟 5 maneras de comenzar el día escolar con una actitud positiva

Regresar a la escuela después de un fin de semana largo puede hacer que las mañanas sean un poquito difíciles, así que aquí compartimos cinco maneras sencillas de ayudar a nuestros estudiantes de primaria a comenzar el día con éxito:

1️⃣ Dormir bien por la noche. 💤 ¡Un cerebro descansado es un cerebro listo para aprender!

2️⃣ Comer un desayuno saludable. 🍎🥛 Un buen desayuno ayuda a darles a los estudiantes la energía que necesitan para aprender y participar durante el día.

3️⃣ Prepararse desde la noche anterior. 🎒 Elegir la ropa, preparar la mochila y dejar todo listo antes de dormir puede hacer que las mañanas sean menos estresantes.

We love seeing our students' hard work come to life in the community! Huge thanks to Justin, Danae, and The Nut Shoppe for giving our Waterford Wildcats such a sweet, real-world learning experience. Head downtown tonight during First Fridays to try the "Waterford Wonder"!

✨ Our second full week at Waterford Elementary is in the books! 💙

What a fun and busy week it has been! Our students continue to settle into the school year, learn new things, make memories, and show their Waterford pride each day! 📚🌎✨

📸 Picture Day Update: School pictures were delivered to our students this week! If your child missed Picture Day or would like to retake their picture, Picture Retake Day will be September 21.

⭐ We also enjoyed a special visit from a Cub Scout who talked with our students during lunch about Cub Scouts, what they do, and all the fun opportunities they have to learn, explore, and serve their community! Our students enjoyed listening and learning more while they ate. 🥪🧭

🎨🏀 We’re also sharing a few snapshots from Art Class and Gym Class, where our students get to be creative, active, and have fun while learning!

🎟️ And our Golden Ticket Box is filling up! We’re getting closer and closer to pulling names for each grade level. Students whose names are selected will receive a special tag to proudly display on their backpack! ⭐🎒 We can’t wait to see who gets chosen!

⭐ También disfrutamos de una visita especial de un Cub Scout, quien habló con nuestros estudiantes durante el almuerzo sobre los Cub Scouts, lo que hacen y todas las divertidas oportunidades que tienen para aprender, explorar y servir a su comunidad. ¡Nuestros estudiantes disfrutaron mucho escuchando y aprendiendo más mientras almorzaban! 🥪🧭

What a wonderful first full week back at Waterford Elementary! 💛

From learning and laughter to teamwork, creativity, our students jumped right into the new school year with energy and enthusiasm! 🌎✨

This week was full of special moments—from Picture Day 📸 and making memories to practicing our safety routines during a fire drill 🚒. We’re so proud of how our students and staff handled each day with smiles, teamwork, and a positive attitude!

A special thank you to Grace Community Church for the thoughtful gifts for our teachers! 🎁🍎 Your kindness and support mean so much to our Waterford staff and help us feel celebrated as we begin a new school year. 💛
