RedHawks showed up in a big way at this year's Elkhart County 4-H Fair Parade!

It was great seeing so many Goshen Community Schools students and staff representing our district—from runners in the 5K to our football team, cheerleaders, Crimson Marching Band, and Fire Academy rolling through the parade in their fire truck.

These photos also include a behind-the-scenes look at one of the Crimson Marching Band's favorite band camp traditions: color section day! Each section dresses in matching colors before coming together to continue preparing for another exciting season.

Thank you to everyone who represented GCS at one of Indiana's biggest summer traditions. We loved seeing our RedHawks out in the community!

The heat doesn't stop the Crimson Marching Band!

Band camp is officially underway, and our musicians and color guard are putting in the work as they prepare for another exciting season. Throughout this week and next, students rehearse both in sections and as a full ensemble, building the music, precision, and teamwork that will take the field this fall.

With plenty of water breaks and determination, these RedHawks are making the most of every rehearsal.

Here's a look at our woodwinds hard at work this afternoon. We can't wait to see it all come together!

Yondr Frequently Asked Question #2: What if I need to reach my child during the school day?

Parents and guardians can continue to contact their child's school office just as they have in the past. School staff will ensure important messages are delivered to students when needed.

Students will also continue to have access to their school email through their school-issued device for academic purposes.

If a student needs to contact a parent or caregiver during the school day, they can do so through the school office.

While personal communication devices will be secured during school hours, communication between families and schools will continue uninterrupted.

Yondr Frequently Asked Question #1: Will students still have their phones?

Yes! Students in grades 7-12 will continue to bring their phones to school and keep them in their possession throughout the school day.

The difference is that phones and other personal communication devices will be secured in a locked Yondr pouch during school hours and unlocked at dismissal.

Students keep their devices with them—the devices simply won't be accessible during the school day.
