Friends reunited. New schedules were figured out. Hallways filled up. And somewhere along the way, the 2026–27 school year officially began.

We spent part of the first day at Goshen High School capturing the people and moments that make GHS what it is.

And just like that, their first day is here! We spent part of this morning at Prairie View Elementary welcoming some of our youngest RedHawks as kindergarten students arrived for their very first day of school.

There were new classrooms to explore, teachers to meet, friends to make, and plenty of smiles as students began this exciting new chapter.

Kindergarten, 5th, 7th, and 9th grade students are officially back today, and tomorrow we'll welcome all of our RedHawks for the 2026–27 school year.

¡Y así, su primer día ha llegado! Pasamos parte de esta mañana en Prairie View Elementary dando la bienvenida a algunos de nuestros RedHawks más jóvenes, ya que los estudiantes de kínder llegaron para su primer día de escuela.

The halls were full again tonight!

With the first day of school just hours away, families across Goshen Community Schools spent the evening reconnecting with teachers, finding classrooms, catching up with friends, and getting ready for a new school year.

We stopped by Back-to-School Nights at Prairie View, Waterford, Goshen Junior High, and Goshen High School, and there were plenty of smiles everywhere we went.

It was great seeing so many RedHawks back in our buildings tonight. Now, let's get the 2026–27 school year started!

The wait is almost over. Tomorrow, we begin a new school year!

Over the past several weeks, our teachers, staff, and school leaders have been preparing for the return of our RedHawks. Classrooms are ready, hallways are waiting, and we're excited to see our schools filled with students again.

Tomorrow, we welcome Kindergarten, 5th, 7th, and 9th grade students for their first day, followed by all students on Thursday.
To our students, families, staff, and the entire Goshen community: Welcome back to Goshen Community Schools.

Thank you to the community partners who helped us welcome GCS staff back this morning!

Several organizations joined us during our back-to-school breakfast at Goshen High School, giving staff an opportunity to connect, ask questions, learn about available resources, and pick up a few goodies along the way.

A special thank you to all of the vendors who spent part of their morning with us. We appreciate your partnership with Goshen Community Schools and your continued support of our staff. It was a great way to start the 2026-27 school year!

Our staff is back!

This morning, Goshen Community Schools came together at Goshen High School to officially kick off the 2026-27 school year. Our teachers started the morning with breakfast before gathering in the auditorium to hear from district leaders, including Superintendent Jim DuBois.

The highlight of the morning was nationally recognized educational expert Dr. Pooja K. Agarwal, who challenged and encouraged our educators as they prepare to welcome students back this week. Dr. Agarwal will continue working with GCS leaders and teachers throughout the day.

Meanwhile, our Nutrition Services staff from across the district gathered in the GHS cafeteria for their own beginning-of-the-year meeting as they prepare to welcome students back to our cafeterias.

Throughout the building, the morning was filled with smiles, hugs, laughs, learning, and plenty of catching up as colleagues reconnected after summer break.

And the learning continues tonight! Dr. Agarwal will speak directly with GCS parents, guardians, and families during a free one-hour session in the Goshen High School Auditorium beginning at 6:00 PM.

It's great to have our staff back. Now we're ready for our students!

This evening, a small electrical fire occurred at Goshen Junior High. The situation is being addressed, and everyone in the building is safe.

At this time, we are not permitted to re-enter the building. As a result, students who were in the building will not be able to retrieve their belongings this evening. Students may return to the school beginning at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow to pick up any personal items.

Parents and guardians who are picking up students this evening should use the north parking lot only to reconnect with their student.
