Don’t forget to attend Back to School Night right after the PTSO Meeting Wednesday. Please note BTS is much more structured than Open House. This is an event for parents to get information about the upcoming school year so children should remain at home.
Main meeting in the multi purpose room, followed by two classroom sessions so parents with students in more than one class can see two different teachers. See you there!!😀

We have FANTASTIC updates at Gorman School:
1) We are receiving a $56,712 CTEIG (career technical education incentive grant) which will enable us to replace an FFA van and get our Highland mini cow project started
2) We have received a $20,900 arts grant to support our arts program
3) A 7/8 FFA team will be participating in the Farm Robotics Academy
4) We will have another First Lego League robotics team
5) We will be offering instrumental music (guitar, bass, keyboards, drums) on Fridays to grades 5-8
6) Ukulele club will be offered to grades 2-4 thanks to wonderful Mrs. Diaz

We had a fun activity the first 5 days of school with staff and students that involved solving puzzles and ultimately tied into the Goonies. 3 students had wishes granted, and Mrs. Douglas won an hour of Mrs. Knight teaching her class!

Thank you to our wonderful FFA and officers for a fantastic Back to School BBQ last night. We had a yummy feast and everyone had fun reconnecting and meeting our new teachers.
Today, staff enjoyed delicious breakfast burritos from Mrs. K, and did some important professional development on PBIS and Olweus Bullying prevention, the worked on classrooms.
We are so excited to welcome our students tomorrow!❤️

Mrs. Knight stopped by the school to drop off BBQ supplies today, and is happy to report that we don’t have any smoke damage or smell. Don’t forget to rsvp and come to the Back to School BBQ tomorrow!
She is also pleased our sunflower sprouts are doing well.
