The next Conscious Discipline series for caregivers starts on the evening of January 22nd. This open to caregivers served by NCES (all of Coos, upper Grafton, and upper Carroll).

Participants watch the video lessons on your own time and then join an online group discussion. There are 1 or 2 videos to watch before coming together for each of the 7 online discussion meeting dates. There are 10 video lessons in all (totaling to about 10 hours).

On December 4th the NH Association of Special Education Administrators (NHASEA) and NH Association of School Principals (NHASP) are inviting teams of high school students from across the state to take a deep look into the anxiety and mental health crisis in New Hampshire and Nationwide. This will be a convening of high school students, educators, mental health professionals, policy makers, students, and others to view the movie Anxious Nation, conduct facilitated conversations related to the challenges and implications of anxiety and mental health in NH’s children and youth. Most importantly the group will collectively address the crisis and bring forward ideas to better support NH’s children and youth facing anxiety and mental health challenges.

Shelli Roberts and Annalisa Blake will work together to facilitate two sessions of four meetings each. The first session is in July to August at 9:00 am, and the second is in October to November starting at 6:00 pm. The meetings will be online.

The book, Purposeful Play: A Teacher’s Guide to Igniting Deep and Joyful Learning Across the Day, is very readable at approximately 150 pages. It has three sections, and the first three of the meetings in each session will cover a section. Then the 4th meeting will pull it all together. The book will be sent to you in time to read section one before the first meeting.
