💚Gore Middle School 6th graders celebrated Indigenous People's Day by hearing from our JOM Sponsor, Mrs. Marsha! They learned about Cherokee language, traditional games, and explored some Oklahoma Native American History.

🧑‍🚒🚒Pre-K Students Learn About Fire Safety

During October’s Fire Prevention Week, our Pre-K students learned about fire safety and the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. Students explored the tools and equipment firefighters use and learned how to stay safe in the event of a fire, including the importance of having a parent or trusted adult call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

Gore firefighters Justin Ohl, Denver Spalding, and Anderson Ohl visited our school and brought two fire trucks for students to explore. We appreciate our local firefighters taking the time to teach our youngest learners valuable lessons about fire safety!

GHS CAMPUS SAFETY/PARKING REMINDERS:

The safety of our students, staff, and visitors is always a priority. We want to remind our student drivers of a few important expectations regarding parking and morning arrival and make parents aware of these rules as well.

🟢 Gravel Parking Lot (in front of the ag building): This lot is reserved ONLY for seniors and students attending ICTC.

🟢 Event Center Student Parking Lot: ALL other student drivers must park in the designated student parking area in front of the event center.

🚫 HANDICAPPED PARKING: Students without a valid handicap parking permit should NEVER park in the designated handicapped spaces near the event center. This is a violation of the law, regardless of the time of day.

🏫 MORNING ARRIVAL EXPECTATIONS: Upon arriving at school, students are expected to exit their vehicles and enter the school building promptly. Students should NOT remain in their vehicles or congregate in the parking lots waiting for the bell to ring. Our parking lots are not designated student gathering areas, and we need students inside the building where proper supervision can be provided.

⚠️ Students who fail to follow these expectations will be subject to disciplinary consequences.

These rules are not simply about parking—they are about student safety, proper supervision, and ensuring our school buses and other drivers can safely navigate our campus. We appreciate the cooperation of our students and parents in helping us maintain a safe, orderly campus.
