Last Friday, our After School Program walked to First National Bank in Gordon to learn more about banking and the different responsibilities a bank does for their customers. Each student was given a passport as they went through each department and learned what they all did. They were also given bags filled with pens, a squishy dollar sign and some candy. Thank you to FNB and our ASP Program for this wonderful community activity!

Last Friday was an exciting day at GES. The students and staff enjoyed a 'sneak peek' Willow Tree performance and then enjoyed an afternoon with Grandparents and Grand"friends" to celebrate Grandparents Day. Thank you to the Willow Tree Committee for the performance and to all the families that were a part of making our Grandparents Day a wonderful event!

Gordon-Rushville Public Schools has declared the following items as surplus and for sale: one Hobart 115v wire feed welder, one Miller Econotig CC•AC/DC welder, three Hobart TR-250 AC/DC welders, and two six inch bench grinders.

If you are interested in any of the items, please submit a sealed bid to the district office with your name, phone number, the name of the item you are bidding on, and the amount of your bid. For each of the welders, there is a $150 minimum bid. There is no minimum bid for the bend grinders.

Bids will be accepted until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Please contact the high school office for any questions regarding the items.

Last week, the GES 5th graders had their annual flag folding and etiquette training with Sheriff Jeff Brewer and his son, Tim. The students learned proper folding of the American Flag and spent time learning how to raise and lower the flag safely. Thank you to the Brewer's for always finding time each year to share their knowledge and patriotism with our students!
