We had an AWESOME 2 days of leadership training this week! We also had a special guest appearance by Jeff Scott, the Band Director at Goose Creek from 1989-2001! We’re super thankful to have Mr. Scott come out and share his words of encouragement and the legacy of our band program with our leadership team this afternoon!

We are EXCITED to welcome Ms. Jeniya Brown as the Director of Bands at Sedgefield Middle School! Ms. Brown will also join the Spirit of Gold Marching Band as one of our assistant band directors this season!

Ms. Brown is a recent graduate earning her Bachelors in Music Education and Certificate in Saxophone Performance from the University of South Carolina. She is from Summerville, SC. And is excited to teach close to home.

She is an alumni of the Carolina Band and Tau Beta Sigma sorority, where she was able to participate and showcase her love for all things band related. She is cheerful and excited to start her journey with the Goose Creek band!

Drop in and meet Ms. Whatley on Wednesday, July 15th from 5:30-7 at the GCHS band room. We hope to see you there!
