🤖🌱 The Hive at Avondale is hosting classes to learn how artificial intelligence works using data you generate in a community hydroponic garden. 🌱🤖

💡 This weekly series will teach you the basics of hydroponic gardening, algorithmic thinking, and artificial intelligence.

🌱📊 Over eight weeks you'll record the growth and development of your plant, then use that data to build an AI model of your own! 🤖✨

By the end of the class you'll have a solid understanding of how AI models are built, taught, tested, and improved--and you'll have a plant to take to your home or garden! 🪴🏡

📅 Classes are on Fridays from 3-4 PM beginning September 25 - October 25.

🔬🌎 Science, collaboration and big ideas!

Our Chief Science Officers (CSOs) participated in the SciTech Youth Solutions Summit on Saturday, September 12, connecting and collaborating with CSO students from around the world! 🌱🤖

Students worked in small groups and explored topics including the importance of herbariums, participated in a Zooteens session with the Phoenix Zoo, and discovered how AI is transforming environmental science.

We love seeing our student leaders learning, connecting and exploring solutions for the future! 🚀

In partnership with Southwest Human Development, sessions will be held at Lattie Coor School on Thursdays from 4–5 p.m., beginning September 17. The program is open to all Avondale ESD families!

Our fabulous 8th graders in Mrs. Lising’s class put on their detective hats today! 🕵️‍♂️

💡 Students applied their knowledge of primary and secondary sources to analyze evidence, uncover clues, and solve a mystery crime! 🔍📚

No guessing allowed! 🤭 They had to use evidence, critical thinking, and reasoning to connect the clues and crack the case! 🧠🔐✨
