What really is the definition of normal? Are any of us really "normal"?

YESTERDAY, MY SON WAS BODYSLAMMED 3 TIMES BY A BULLY, THE SAME BULLY THAT HAS BEEN MAKING MY SON'S SCHOOL YEAR A NIGHTMARE, INCLUDING STEALING A NECKLACE I GAVE MY SON AS A SPECIAL GIFT FOR HIS FIRST YEAR OF LITTLE LEAGUE. LAST NIGHT, I CALLED THE COPS TO PUT A STOP TO THIS, AND WHEN THE COP CAME OVER, HE SAID THE SCHOOL POLICE OFFICER WOULD HANDLE THE CASE. WHEN I GOT A CALL TODAY FROM THE RVMS PSLO, HE TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE MY SON VOLUNTARILY WALKED INTO THE AREA THAT THE BULLY WAS, THAT IT WAS MY SON'S FAULT FOR GOING "INTO THE LIONS DEN" AND THERE WAS NOTHING HE WOULD DO ABOUT IT. WHEN I TOLD THE OFFICER THAT THIS BULLY HAD BEEN BULLYING MY SON ALL YEAR, HE SAID HE ONLY TAKES ONE ISSUE AT A TIME AND THE PAST WAS DONE, AND THE NECKLACE WAS THE BULLY'S BECAUSE THE BULLY WAS ABLE TO NAME A STORE WHERE THEY SELL THEM. THE KAUKAUNA AREA SCHOOLS IS PROTECTING BULLIES AND IGNORING THEIR VICTIMS! PLEASE SHARE AND SEND A MESSAGE TO EVERY SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT PROTECTING BULLIES AND DOING NOTHING ABOUT THEIR ACTIONS IS WRONG!! MY SON HAS BEEN BULLIED ALL SCHOOL YEAR BY THIS GROUP OF THUGS, AND NOT 1 TEACHER, ADMINISTRATOR, COUNCILLOR OR OFFICER WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE IT STOP, THEY ONLY OFFER EXCUSES AND BLAME THE VICTIMS!!! PLEASE HELP ME IN THE EFFORT TO STOP BULLYING!!!

I was at the school yesterday picking up my kids (I do daycare). i was already at the school as I was called by the principal of yet again another incident that had occurred with my fourth grade daughter and some friends of hers. (mind you I have been in the office a lot over this particular group of kids and my daughter). The first and second grader let me know about a youtube video that had been placed on youtube about my daughter from two classmates. Again these kids are in fourth grade! I was livid i watched the video and could not even believe what I was seeing and hearing. They were calling her "that girl" and had slipped numerous times revealing my daughter's name. it wasn't as bad as it could have been but i was appalled that it was even recorded at all. i did talk to both sets of parents. There are consequences on the parents end as well as the school. I am somewhat please by what the school had to say. i think a more substantial punishment could have been put into place. I did agree because all these girls have a same situation when it comes to absent parents. I know that it's not an excuse but i do know that for girls coming into their own it can be difficult trying to balance emotions with puberty. i was very fortunate for they were willing to apologize and saw my point of view clearly. I cried last night as I fell asleep. How do i protect her from this? How do I show her that there is good in the world when every time she turns around there is Evil, With the boston bombings and bullies everywhere. I am scared and sad Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -anonymous very concerned mother of a bullied child

It has been a while since I have posted anything on here. I was actually taking a step back and doing a study. This is what I have concluded. I believe that one of the biggest reasons that bullying is so real and continues it's trek on destroying kids is because once the flame of a fresh fire of bullying dies down then so does the concern of it until the next horrific event happens. I really believe that there are so much that parents and teachers and even kids can do to help prevent this from spreading further but we must all be aware at all times not just when something horrible like a teen taking their own life happens. Anyone agree with this? Are there any stories that one would like to share?

The other day I had a friend tell me that her son got kicked out of school for dressing "innappropriatley" per the office staff. This boy was gay and had come out a year prior. He was wearing sleeveless shirts that said "proud to be gay" and such things like that. Lots of rainbows etc. I find it degrading and horrible that a school staff would do such a thing. The biggest problem these days is that we are taking individuality away and the right of freely expressing ourselves however each individual sees fit. How are we supposed to trust a school where our children spend 90% of their time when they are not behind our kids 100%!

I was appalled by these stories and what the school staff did! please read!
