Our dear and precious friend, ICALM minister, GIBI staff member and Alumni Pastor Jenny Fisher, went to her heavenly home on Monday. She was such a precious woman of God, a daughter in the faith, and a true and kind friend to so many. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. She is now with her Savior and King receiving her eternal reward. There will be a celebration of life service on July 15th, 2023 in Williams, Arizona. More details to come. Why do we call Good Friday “good,” when it is such a dark and bleak event commemorating a day of suffering and death? For Christians, Good Friday is a crucial day of the year because it celebrates what we believe to be the most momentous weekend in the history of the world! Ever since Jesus died and was raised, Christian believers have proclaimed the cross and resurrection of Jesus to be the decisive turning point for all of creation. The apostle Paul considered it to be “of first importance” that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised to life on the third day, all in accordance with what God had promised all along in the Scriptures (see 1 Cor 15:3). On Good Friday we remember the day Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and for the sins of the whole world. He was the perfect, sinless, spotless lamb of God sacrificed for our atonement. His blood was shed for the remission of our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. And His body was broken so that we might be made whole. Thank you for enduring the cross Lord! And thank Jesus for the price you paid for us and for our salvation. Happy Blessed Good Friday and Easter everyone!

Tomorrow in Christendom believers in Jesus Christ are commemorating and celebrating what's called Maundy Thursday. Why is Maundy Thursday so important? Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, which Christians consider the institution of the Holy Eucharist, also known as the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion. It also parallels the great feast our Jewish brothers and sisters celebrate called The Feast of Unleavened Bread or the Passover Seder. It is described in the Gospel of Luke Chapter 22 and Exodus Chapter 12. If you are a believer in God and in His only Son Jesus Christ, then take some time to read these chapters in scripture and celebrate and receive Holy Communion this week in remembrance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ or try and attend a Passover Seder meal to discover Gods plan of salvation, deliverance, and redemption for all His children back then AND in the here and now! Amen.
